Plus I knew it was coming so it was actually less disapointing than I was expecting. Lead developer leaving the project is usually a death knell though

Sure it wasn't a great ending but boy were people taking that whole thing too loving seriously.

Mans posted:http://imgur.com/user/JacePv/favorites/Q47cb0b I don't know, man, I travel a lot an people are asking me how I do it and I give the same advice. There are a lot of people that think travel is beyond their means, but there are lots of more unconventional ways of going about it. Now, if the beef is with the stupid title "How to Travel for Free" then yeah, that's stupid. But I think it'd be cool if more people had the opportunity to check out some other cultures.

From my understanding the dude who left was one of the guys in charge of day-to-day operations of the game to make sure development stays focused, with the main guys that are responsible for leading the overall creative direction, the gameplay direction, the art direction, etc are still there, losing what is basically a manager by comparison isn't the end of the project unless the project gotten seriously hosed behind the scenes. That said the Creative Director was the main writer of ME3, so one should probably still reserve major caution nonetheless.

WoW has a guy that's basically head of art and story, and does 80% of the voice "acting" in the game, and have been since the early Warcraft days. Job titles are meaningless, man!

Mans posted:http://imgur.com/user/JacePv/favorites/Q47cb0b There was a travel one a while ago that got a nice backlash. It started with a frontpage post where someone mentioned they wanted to travel, but didn't have enough money. Another user saw it, and made up the loving est response post that you're just lazy and it doesn't cost much money. Then people yelled at him, and he posted this, backed up with the most Smuggo Euro Kid response: http://imgur.com/gallery/BxBXR One of the few frontpage articles where the comments mostly poo poo on the OP.

I was always just told to join the merchant marines to get around. Want to go to Europe? Sign up for a trip to France. You will work your way there, but you will end up with more money in your pocket when you land than you had when you started, and can just walk away.

Yeah but if you walk away you're stuck in France, the Texas of Europe.

Pretty sure the Americans who can't wouldn't make it anyway, seeing as part 1 of my plan is 'get job with merchant marine' which means you will be doing ALL the unskilled poo poo work on the boat on the way over, like swabbing the decks, or(I assume) cleaning the bilges. Its a 'Work your loving rear end off' way of getting out of the states.

It also doesn't help that "business casual" can mean pretty different things. I've heard "business casual" mean that clean khakis in reasonably good condition and a polo shirt that isn't tucked in is OK. I've also heard "business casual" mean that dress pants and a tucked in oxford shirt were the barest minimum. That being said "causal" doesn't mean "hygiene optional." Seriously people, take a loving shower before you come to work unless your job is filthy enough that it makes more sense to shower after instead.

I have yet to pin down what "business casual" means for women. In my experience it seems to be "whatever everyone else is wearing". There's always a rule against leggings/boots, but there's always one person who wears leggings/boots anyway and throws the whole thing into question.

Leggings/boots always seems to be contingent on whether the person is wearing a dress or is trying to pass off the leggings as pants. But that can vary wildly depending on who you ask and the weight of the boots wearing person in question.

Women only have "casual" and "business" attire and besides showing up in straight up sweats and a tee typically no one will raise too much of a fit. It's one of the very very few perks they have from not being allowed/wanted in the work force for so long. Their styles are just more acceptable than the rigidity of men's "work attire rules."

Pretty sure the rules about leggings are in there because they can't come out and say no visible beef flaps, or tell you that that is what the problem is when you get disciplined. As long as I don't know what your junk looks like, no one really cares. If you can see that much detail, it should probably go to HR.

And women's suits tend to look terrible. You always look like the Republicans wife. And I know my last job leggins were okay, but as long as they were good ones, mat and not shiny or patterned, and no yoga pants.
