most of us don't care and are ok to shell out $20 for a new cable to go with our $2000 laptop every 5 years or so, but if it upsets you that much there are still laptops available to buy with VGA ports on them. no more parallel tho unfortunately

off the top of my head you're missing at least three other apple specific display connectors* (90s era) and apple serial (mini-8)

*i don't know if they were apple only, but i've never seen the 35 pin rectangular block one** on anything else, and there was an hdmi-looking thing on the og powerbook that i've never seen anywhere else

I think that one's 15 pin VGA crammed into a smaller port, I don't remember if that was truly apple only or de facto apple only

I do remember the adaptor wasn't active it just made VGA
