I have no idea. I was positively mystified. The movie is a gay porn already, just with the sex removed - you don't have to change anything in order to set up the sex scenes, just..make it again and put them back in!

"The White Shadow"
Does anyone know if there's been any bad movie podcast has tackled the movie "Soul Man?" (the one where C. Thomas Howell dresses in blackface and goes to Harvard)

My friends and I watched it on a lark the other day during a bad movie watching session and I am just befuddled by its existence and need to hear someone talk about it/make fun of it.

I checked the stand-bys (WHM, Flophouse, HDTGM) and none of them seem to have tackled it, I was wondering if anyone knew of any smaller podcasts or critic shows that have addressed it. I figure it probably should have come up earlier this last year during the whole Rachel Dolezal stuff.

It sounds like the sort of thing that Black on Black Cinema would have a field day with. Just checked their site and they haven't done it, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's on their list.
If you want to see what they're like when they talk about a bad movie, check out their episodes on N-Secure and The Wiz.

Movie Mastery (it's an offshoot of our regular show System Mastery where we review terrible old roleplaying games). The basic premise is that we only review movies recommended by listeners, we watch a random one each time picked the day of, and we watch the trailer first and try to predict what's in the film to come. We've done Master of Disguise, The Star Wars Holiday Special, Big Money Rustlas, and just a bunch of terrible stuff recommended by our mean listeners.

We're at System Mastery, just click through to the movie episodes or the download link page. Actually we just did Santa with Muscles so it's the top thing on the scrollbar anyway.

Yikes! This movie is a loving dirge. It's so painfully slow and boring.

It's the most distilled version of what I hate about lazy films made for kids, by a large studio that should know better. It's brainless and charmless garbage that was shoveled into theaters because kids'll watch anything. Looking on Wikipedia, Ebert called it "far too mediocre to be terrible" and Siskel named it his worst movie of that year, and somehow I feel like I agree with both of them at once.

Yeah. It has some good performances, and I especially liked Andrew Jupin, as well as the two female friends at the party, but be warned it's mostly uncomfortable conversations with you as a fly on the wall. It felt extremely true to life, which is the point, so it accomplishes what it's going for perfectly. But I don't want people to go in expecting comedy akin to the podcast.

But it felt very...true. Like I've been to that dinner party before. Not at all what I was expecting.

After listening to the Russel Madness episode, like the guys mentioned, the movie's premise would've make sense if wrestling is fake. I mean, in New Japan Pro Wrestling, a real-lifeJapanese wrestling promotion, there is a 'wrestler' that is a blow up doll for gently caress's sake.
