I can skip the cutscenes in Metal Gear games. They also have gameplay that isn't quick time sequences.

Given the screenplays Roger Ebert wrote, if somebody had shown him something like this he may have changed his tune regarding video games as being art.

Obviously I can't make a broad statement because generalisations are dumb, but overall I tend to prefer games that create exciting moments due to the player's actions and choices rather than guiding the player through a scripted setpiece.

Depending on the genre anyway. Otherwise I'd be making GBS threads on the entire JRPG genre.

They're doing a Cloudbuilt run on AGDQ, I can't wait to watch that and feel bad about how bad I am by comparison. The game must just be a blur of motion at the hands of a good player.

Record of Lodoss War TV seems to have a pretty bad reputation, but after eleven episodes I'm enjoying it. I started watching it out of curiosity and it's just more Lodoss, but TV. Feels about the same quality to me, minus the high-detail OVA character designs.

I have to say that the Shooting Star showdown is much better in the TV version than the OVA thanks to being treated as a climactic final showdown. Other than one episode with an hilariously embarrassing non-fight that was like five minutes of action stills, the budget is managing to cling together well enough for a low budget action series. Mr original character do not steal is pretty okay as a protagonist other than his very awkward "here meet the new guy he's not out of place at all" introduction prior to the timeskip. I'm surprised that I'm quite enjoying it, really.

If I remember right, the OVA didn't cover the entire player session, so it made up its own ending, so the TV version sort of tries to replace the last part of it, awkwardly jumping in the middle. I assume the new protagonist was a new player or someone re-rolling.
