The same for Sin too actually, but nothing he does at the start of the story really is based in the arcade mode he just hangs out with Sol which you can easily infer from everything the story mode starts with

The public perception of Guilty Gear was that it represented the last gasp of greatness in a dying genre. A fresh start at something new was probably the best thing Arcsys could have done when they launched Blazblue, even if a lot of GG players complained that it was slower and lamer than GG.

Yeah, the dimensions are OK overall, but the filesize limitations are a killer when it comes to gifs.
