Which is fine. There are procedures in place to keep people out. You'd have to run an EVE-style long con to do that to the goon FCs.

My new favorite thing in DF is astros who hold on to an ewer through the entire dungeon. Typically these are the kinds of healers who never use cleric stance and just sit there casting benefic every now and then. Sometimes they don't even use cards, or use dumb combos like expanded bole!

So I finally got ACT to work and have been futzing around with it. What's a general length of time to attack a training dummy to get an accurate reading. Obviously it's not going to be as accurate as actual battles but I wanted to get something to start with as a baseline for my deepz.

As DRG I just try to execute my full combo until I run out of tp. Has the bonus effect of helping you practice your rotation as well as keep track of how well you're doing from session to session.

For non tp dependent classes, I'm not sure. It might be best to just set up a 5 minute timer and go to town on the dummy during that time.

1) UNSYNCING IS REPORTEDLY "BREAKING CONTENT" AS MANY PLAYERS CAN QUICKLY ACQUIRE ITEMS BY SIMPLY UNSYNCING. IT HAS BEEN SUGGESTED THAT THE UNSYNC FUNCTION EXIST, FOR PLAYERS WHO SIMPLY WANT TO SEE THE GAME OR PUT "TRAINING-WHEELS" ON THE FIGHT, BUT THAT ITEMS/REWARDS/TITLES REMAIN FOR SYNC'D FIGHTS ONLY.

2) THERE SHOULD ALWAYS BE A VERY DIFFICULT MODE FOR PLAYERS TO SPEND WEEKS, AND EVEN MONTHS, ASPIRING TO BEAT. I've stopped playing right after Heavensward became available. (Yeah, I bought the expansion and didn't even get to see any of it's content.)

Can someone sum up the current role of the duty roulettes for someone leveling from level 50 to 60 and for players at level 60? The level 50 duty roulette looks not very useful right now for example. Thanks.

Level 50 roulette is super helpful and pops pretty quick because all the mobs give experience. With a good group you have a solid chain bonus in between each boss. Right now is a great time to level.

Oh. Nice. Very useful. You still have to unlock all dungeons, before you can use the roulette though, right?

If you're right at 50, Praetorium is actually pretty good XP, because you get XP from all the mobs, even the ones when you're riding the magitek. And since you're killing them so fast, you get a huge chain bonus going.

I'm of the opinion that talent trees never end well, it's just a giant balancing mess that never really ends up in an entirely satisfactory manner. As others have mentioned, it's essentially just an illusion of choice.

Besides, do you really want to deal with the average roulette idiot when given the power to make themselves even worse?

Well, I've picked up the expansion and will be getting back in game here soon. Will someone be able to re-invite my guy to the goon guild again? IGN is Reduced Cholesterol. I think I've got 2.35 content to run through before I can start on the expansion, need to decide if I want to do it on Warrior, Dragoon, Blackmage, Summoner, or Scholar.

It sounded like the FC members were all feeding and keeping all the chocobos on feed cooldown for leveling and only members of the "cool person club" was allowed to stable their chocobo and get it fed

basically it's the FC being complete assholes

edit: and no, you can't cause any kind of damage by having your chocobo stabled

Entirely this, you can't even kick other people's chocobo out with stables access.

The absolute worst thing that can happen is somebody wastes their precious krakka on the chocobo of somebody who isn't playing any more.

So no, there isn't anything anybody can actually gently caress up.

Which is why I think WoW has it in a decent place at the moment; All the core skills for a class are now baked in and you can't not get them, and the talents are stuff like "yes I would rather have a 1min CD ability that does burst AoE damage with a snare instead of a 1min CD ground target AoE". So even if a player fucks up their talents as much as possible they usually don't gently caress up as bad as an FFXIV tank who didn't pick up provoke, or even a healer who didn't level THM for swiftcast. But the choices still feel important because the abilities are generally fun/useful.

There are people without rank 20 chocobos?

Also talents are awesome, who cares if there's some best pick and if you don't pick it you're poo poo. People are going to be poo poo no matter what you give them, even a completely 0 customizable system. People gently caress up 123 in this game where the button lights up and has animation to press 2 next. Let the elitiest have their elite best build, the special snowflake have their unique build do not steal, and the paste eaters not even know there's a talent system.

That seems to have been Ramrodicus Maximus. His caps lock key is broken in-game too. He's noisy and attention-seeking but harmless. No idea if this is a joke post from him to rile up attention that way, or if he actually believes that poo poo and wants attention for in-game accomplishments. I can easily believe either.

I don't think Talents are inherently bad. It definitely depends on what the implementation is like, what makes up the trees themselves and yeah it should be all passive traits that make certain skills alternatively slightly better, and how freely you can respec(gut bonus attributes, modify level up growth to compensate, make this the new function of Hymns.)

I don't think specifically the 14 development team could pull off a good talent system however, at least not at this point in time when they can't decide on what to do with the Tanking classes vs. content.

The main barrier to making it is that they're specialist 2* crafts. Some of the mats are diadem mats, but that's not too big a deal.

The only pain is that you need to be a specialist or know one to craft them, because they're specialist restricted.

The mats themselves should be cheap and if they're not cheap on your server it's a scam because you can pull them out of diadem really easily. The only wrinkle is that some of the mats themselves are specialist crafts to make.

But if you know crafters definitely just pull the mats together and make them for your dapper glamours.
