Oh my god the last boss is so sick, even though I knew what it would be the whole game

This final chapter is fairly bonkers. Nishiki looks and animates exactly like MGS1 Liquid in this ending but in a PS2 game and it's awesome.

I think every single named character so far is dead now except for the player character.

If this entry is the mechanically weakest in the series and I imagine the presentation gets astronomically better as the generations progress, I'm going to have an absolute blast playing the rest of these games.

The biggest bummer was that I went to the SEGA Building and they had all these fake arcade kiosks but the only functional thing was a crane game!!!

this slowly gets fixed throughout the series, culminating in 5 where you can play original games and also virtua fighter 2 and taiko drum master

I read about extra stuff in Yakuza that I skipped....there was a boat load of stuff in this game I never encountered, and an overwhelming amount of challenges unlocked in the post game. That's cool. I found an item early on that turned off random encounters and did that for the rest of game running from checkpoint to the checkpoint

I know how he feels.

Oh dude, if Yakuza 2 is you playing as Kazuma when he is Chariman of the Tono clan. That would be sick.

Kind of. Kazuma is a tojo chairman like Big Boss leads Diamond Dogs, storywise.

Bump. I figured out how to fix the audio problems I was having with my PS2 emulator and I'm going to start Yakuza 2 with it because I don't want to spend 120 dollars on a PS2 game.

50 minutes of cutscenes before the first gameplay and save point. What is this, MGS4?

I like that in Yakuza 2 there was a story mission along the lines of "I need to kill some time until I can meet up with X" and in 99% of games this means you have to clear a certain number of side objectives until it will trigger the next story beat but I spent the evening watching soft core pornos in a video rental shop and playing crane game until I got a call on my cell phone.
