I hope they cover Mortdecai, because the very existence of that movie makes no sense to me. Why make it seem in tone like a kid's movie but have it rated R? Who thought those irritating mustache ads were a good idea? Where did all that star power come from for such a lovely movie?

It's gotta be some Producers scheme, but instead of making it merely awful they made a movie your brain forgets was ever made.

I didn't see Mortdecai, because no one saw Mortdecai, but based solely on the fact that Depp's last appearance on the show, Secret Window, is one of my all-time favorite episodes, I'd love to see them tackle another disastrous Depp flick.

I don't know if its entirely kosher to do this in a WHM post, but I've found a new (goon-run) movie podcast that I've fallen in love with - This Was Rad. Two dudes talking about 80s movies, with one of theirs 14yo daughters. It's legitimately funny and interesting to see movies that WHM-type folks eat up through the mind of the younger generation. E: vvv I haven't gotten to that one, but outside of some volume issues on their site I haven't had any audio issues. Not all podcasts are using great tech... Seems like a cool idea, but I tried listening to their Labyrinth episode, and literally, physically could not, their audio quality is so terrible. I'm sure they're funny and interesting and charming, but none of that matters if I can't understand word one.

I was wondering when the circus would show up and then I realized that I was thinking of Rudolph and Frosty's Christmas in July and that there's a reason why ABC Family was able to make an annual tradition of airing nothing but Christmas specials for 25 days every year.

Having watched it for the first time in ages the week before this episode, it is every bit as insane as it sounds. I hope A Year Without A Santa Claus is next year, because that one barely makes more sense than this.

Oh please, the life and adventures of santa claus is far crazier than year without a santa claus. I mean, sure, year has the miser brothers and their mom, Mother Nature, but the life and adventures opens with a fuckin court ceremony welcoming all the immortals of the world to hold a hearing on whether or not santa should die or should be made immortal.

Yeah, but does that movie have an extended musical number about how Mrs. Claus desires to be her husband?

I actually just watched Pixels last week (free rental, don't judge me) and it wasn't supremely horrible on the level of Jack & Jill/Grown Ups 2, it was just kind of boring. Like seeing your favorite 80s arcade characters come to life is kind of cool but for the most part it feels like they're playing the film version of Nick Arcade. Until the end, when Josh Gad fucks Qbert who has taken the form of a sexy warrior babe from a fake game he's obsessed with and has little Qbert babies. I guess in retrospect there are some baffling things in the movie like Michelle Monaghan's character instantly falling for Adam Sandler's loser Geek Squad character, Sean Bean being in the movie for like 3 minutes, and Kevin James being the wackiest POTUS, but overall there were probably worse movies released last year. It'd still be a funny episode though and I'd love to hear them rip on some of the stupider things in there.
