Maybe you can't, but I've never had a problem hitting the bumpers with my big knuckle while resting the beautifully narrow MS triggers under the last knuckle of my index fingers.

To be fair, the 360 and Bonetroller are perfectly sized for my hands though.

As for the Sony style d-pads, I like them, but everyone I've known irl hated them because the directions weren't connected (I had no problem with diagonals though).

I liked the 360 d-pad for Virtua Fighter 5, but I couldn't stand it for most things 2D.
SF4 dumbing down the dragon punch motion was a God send.

- Options and Share Buttons add unnecessary width to the controller when they could've been placed underneath the touchpad
- Option and Share buttons are flush with the controller, making them unnecessarily harder to press, especially given that the touchpad and d-pad/button areas are raised
- touchpad a waste of R&D for dubious value
- triggers too short for fine throttle control with driving
- idiotic convex bump on the sticks
- no textured rubber on the sticks like previous designs
- battery life is a joke, especially when the DS3 battery has been proven to fit
- love or hate it d-pad design (I actually never minded this over the years)
- no 20 minute auto shutoff
- left stick is in the wrong spot

Pros:
- comes in white which looks great
- USB recharging
- proper sized headphone jack
- does not use a proprietary Wi-Fi standard

Misc:
- no global presets for stick inversion/ sensitivity (OS design issue)

Tl;dr - MS spent a hundred million bucks on R&D ( :laffo: ) to reinvent perfection; the results of which took the F-22 of controllers, and turned it into the Viper Mark VII. :colbert:

I agree with most of this. The textured rubber on the sticks seems to be random if you get it or not. The controller that came with my PS4 had hardly any, and the controller I bought last year had a little on the left stick and a too much on the right. The build quality is laughable. I've delegated my old PS4 controller to my PSTV because the triggers barely work now. Both of my PS4 controllers have that problem where the audio cuts out randomly as well, and I can't find a solution that works.

Never buy season passes, everyone quits after the first one, and for those that don't, the separate map pack releases fracture the community into ever smaller buckets of playlists and game modes due to the mix of people who have/don't have all the different sets.

quick draw, grip and rapid fire with an optic. when i used it i tried to forget it was a burst weapon and used it as a normal SMG because the bursts come out at a decent speed. one big difference though is if you're coming off another SMG you might've got used to being able to drag over an enemy and then adjust back on them thanks to the spread and fire rate on other SMGs but with the pharo you really need to get at least 3 shots out of the burst on target as its a lot less forgiving in that regard. once you can accurately put it on target quickly though you can take people out even at mid-long ranges pretty handily thanks to the burst.

honestly if you get any issue with a DS4 contact sony as soon as it happens, they have apparently been pretty good about replacing them if they're faulty.

pharo is actually one of the few SMGs i don't run ex/fast mags on, i find the burst fire means you don't dump a mag as quickly and being at half full on a standard mag doesn't gently caress you over as badly as it does on others.

1) debatable; they're slightly less firm of a click than the xbone bumpers, but I wouldn't call them mushy
2) that would require a shorter touchpad, or a taller controller, or smashing them into the same area as the ps button, none of which is a good solution
3) no they're not
4) mostly agree with this; the only nice use so far has been Bloodborne splitting it into two buttons depending on which half you're touching when you press it
5) no opinion; don't do driving games
6) honestly don't understand the issue with that, there's still more than enough grip on them, and they're not fully convex like the DS3 abominations
7) mine are textured
8) battery lasts all day; what do you want?
9) ...really? 10 and 30 minute options aren't enough for you?
10) that's personal opinion; I used to feel similarly in 360/ps3 days, but the ds4 is much more comfortable for me

Are you basing these points off an original DS4? Has there been an update that perhaps fixes some of your complaints?

Fibby Boy posted:

Ports are at a premium on my ps4 sadly. I'll keep these in mind though. Honestly hope I get lucky and find an abandoned ps4 controller somewhere and try my hand at gutting it, an xbone controller, and swapping guts.

What do you have plugged into your PS4's USB ports? Could you use a hub for those instead? (even if it runs off one of the PS4 ports)

Do they add latency? Those links don't list anything about input response at all.

1-2 frames at most (at 60fps), based on tests someone did - linked directly to result table, but first part of video contains the actual test.

Also PAD owns.

And speaking of spending money, if they ever offer the unlock tokens from prestige for money I would spend a good amount of cash to unlock all the essential poo poo I use to make the prestige grind a non-issue. Being an adult with a ton of money to waste on video games is pretty great.
