I think a lot of people would be less surprised and turned off by Chiru if they had read Higurashi first. Higurashi is much more homogeneous as it segues into answer-arc themes and resolving the characters and stuff, and so you get a gentle introduction to what ryukishi is all about. Chiru just jumps ship and leaves a lot of readers feeling abandoned and they have no idea why they'd want to stick around.

Soul Nomad is good. Even if it was only okay, I generally give you more leeway to games where you can pick and/or make your main character.

genderswapping the two people in this game is popular it seems i never got to the end of it, i think i'm at the part where i got the airship? i don't remember how far that is it's been a while, the most distinct thing I remember about that game is the cooking completely baffling me. like the very first town in the game has all of these ingredients and i have yet to unlock a recipe that uses a single one of them, but i do have twelve different ways to cook rice and rice alone

I can't go back to older Tales games. For one thing, the healers are absolutely unfun to play after having some who were more fun. For another, the battle system is also less fun.

I like Pacific Rim. It was a fun movie, and it pissed people off when I was talking about it being anime. They were of the "I like it, thus it's not anime" camp. It was quite amusing.

I love the flashback scene where the captain dude kills a monster with his robot, gets out of the robot with his back against the sun and removes the helmet, triumphantly gazing over the landscape while wiping the sweat from his brow. It was funny.
