Guavanaut posted:Less of this illegal sedition. Straight British short swords only. Bonus points if it has a royal cypher on the hilt so you can shout "Clean with the Queen" while you stab a terrified Indian who is putting his backpack on a train rack. Surely the most British stabby thing is the bayonet. First patient I ever layed out had bayoneted an Indian. He killed him during the famine in 1943. He told me he had no choice, as they were about to be over run. Nice old boy. Worked as a bus conductor after the war.

Thinking about that, I remember my old man telling me about the first patient he layed out. He was at Omdurman and told my dad about looking at the dead bodies after. He reckoned they had no chance, but they were still brave. Some of them were wearing chain mail armour. Hopefully the next generation of nurses will not have to deal with the elderly dead bodies of imperialism. There would be less of them for a start. God knows what the world will be like when some student nurse lays out the dead body of a reaper drone operator in 2080.

I'm glad my grandad didn't have to stab any famished Indian people. From what I remember him saying most of the colonial troops in north-east India were starved themselves and everyone was grateful to the Sikh temples for having an open food table on a Friday night. There was still the occasional mobilization against whatever the Japanese were supposed to be doing long the Burma line, but more often it was playing football against Indian villagers and figuring out ways to steal alcohol from the officers' quarters.

I need to try pheasant. Actually it makes me somewhat sad that there are probably more types of animals on earth than I can realistically eat.

Pheasant is nice especially in a pie. Edit: Brown your pheasant with some diced bacon, fry some mushrooms and onion, take half a bottle of tawny port, reduce it by half and mix with an equal amount of chicken stock, put the pheasant and bacon in with the mushrooms and onions, add some garlic and flour it, pour your stocky port in, cook untill thickened and put into some pastry and cook. Boom there's a nice loving pie. StoneOfShame fucked around with this message at 04:04 on Jan 7, 2016 |

Pheasant is alright, but it's no wood pigeon. Fat little fuckers are delicious when you pan fry their boobs in some garlic butter and cranberry sauce.

On the other hand, Islam is very reasonable about observing Ramadan allowing people who need to to defer their fast until a time when it's better for them. If I was a Muslim student I think I'd look in to that.

He's Ken Livingstone, he's massively self important and for good or bad will never be capable of shutting the gently caress up. I dont like NATO and in my ideal world would leave it but lets be fair its probably not going to happen and even mentioning talking about is the sort of thing that's gonna get Labour crucified in the press so maybe it would be a good idea for them to be a bit savvy and not go on about it anymore.
