Or maybe I'm just terrible. drat. What about the R4 cars? Even though they seem a little boring but I hear the F2 kit cars suck too and the 2000s are another big jump in cash. HUD chat: I might try and disable it too as I do all of the things you guys are talking about. EDIT: Just disabled the HUD, much better. Oh hey, that Sebastien Loeb Rally game has the 1992-93 Celica GT-Four even though Toyota's supposed to be a dick about licensing. I want a Celica in Dirt Rally edit: actually I want the entire car selection from that game in Dirt Rally, and the visual damage doesn't look too bad either. The game itself seems kind of... eh. I haven't played it myself, but the driving just looks floaty. Of course it's far from finished, so maybe they'll sort things out. DMorbid fucked around with this message at 03:28 on Jan 6, 2016 |

Yeah, I figured that might be the case. The Celica isn't my all-time favorite or anything, but I do have a ton of nostalgia for all the early 90s rally cars because I was a huge rally fan as a kid (back then I liked it just as much as F1 but eventually just stopped caring) and I want to drive all of them in a good game.

The steering wheel can rotate violently if a crash turns the front wheels. Lots of pro drivers are insane and can't help trying to wrestle for control even if the car is upside down and airborne so they end up with compound fractures in their hands. So you look like this: and have to threaten crazy poo poo like this: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/motorsport/world_rally/1880808.stm that is one amazing rudimentary circa 2002 website btw.

My very first stage win! And I did it in a Delta S4 of all things. Since this was just me doing a single-stage event to check out the Martini livery I downloaded, I also got the "win event with no assists and no HUD" achievement.

I doubt these cars have airbags either, so crossing your arms over your chest when bracing for impact probably isn't a terrible idea. Especially in this game where you are likely flying 10 feet in the air upside down through a pine tree.

Holy poo poo, I won one of the Greece stages by 48 seconds. My first time driving the stage, too. I have zero clue how that happened, even taking to account the fact a few of the faster AI drivers crashed out. It was the last stage in the rally and I jumped from 4th or 5th to 2nd, and if I hadn't totally hosed up on the first stage (gently caress you co-driver, none of those corners are 5 or 6) I'd have won the event.

I've had this game installed since it hit Early Access and am wondering: is it taking up just shy of 40GB on everybody's machine, or did my version cruft up somehow? It's by far the single biggest app I have installed and, given that I'm on a 500GB SSD, if a delete and install fresh can shrink that somehow, I'd do it, but I'd like to know if it's just this big for reals.

Thief posted:ironically it is one of the only racing games that got less fun for me the more and more i learned the tracks For those who were part of Early Access, does Codemasters seem to have any intent of releasing more locations and maps? Because recognizing parts of a stage is easily the weakest part of this game (and any rally game). Although sometimes just remembering a combination of turns seems mandatory unless you put the Co-driver call to "Very Early" because he'll call a "caution bumps square right over crest" when I'm going 120mph and have about a millisecond to both acknowledge that and not lock it up over the bumps.

Paul Coleman (chief designer/co driver dude) said he has a personal attachment to Rally New Zealand, but adding something like the Safari Rally would make more sense. They also posted photos of a Spanish rallycross circuit a while back, and I remember murmers of an all gravel version of Pikes Peak.

The default settings for the 360 pad are way too dead. The car will never turn fast enough to take a lot of corners before you up the sens.

Their presence at the Spanish RX as part of their official license with FIA World RX almost certainly probably included taking the images necessary to recreate it. Speaking of Pike's Peak gravel: I'd just like to note that it seems really weird as a kinda tourist-y location outside the hillclimb to have the distribution like it is in the mixed variant with the tarmac, gravel (this section seems weird), tarmac again around the "village" area and well after, and then gravel again near the top.

I swear the championship difficulty going from Clubman to Open is bugged. Three times now I've qualified for Open, not entered an Open championship immediately (to change class) and come back to only being able to choose Clubman. Or do you have to stay with the same class the whole time? That seems poo poo if that's the case. EDIT: Just realised Clubman is the next one from Open, not that it says this anywhere in game.
