Birb Katter posted:I can see how the joke becomes funny but can't see how the steps to get there actually happen. Maybe it's a culture thing or something. Holy crap. This, too, is a funny sign, using wordplay of a slightly different nature. You see, there is a popular website on the internet which specializes in pornography called "Porn Hub". They have taken this popular pornography websites signature logo and changed the original first word, "Porn", to "Corn", the product that their food stand specializes in. Not only does the word "Corn" rhyme with the word "Porn", it has the same amount of letters. This allows it to be easily interchanged with the original website's logo. Although at face value the sign simply lets anyone passing by know that they are in the business of selling corn (they are a "hub" for "corn"), the humor comes, for those in the know, from seeing the logo from an xxx-rated website in a rather public venue, in which it would not normally be seen.

It kind-of bums me out that the only time genre shows seemed actually interested in portraying video games/cyber worlds was during the late 80s/90s, way before technology and familiarity with the subject could realize them. Then I look at the costumes again and start laughing and all is well.

I was surprised that CSI: Cyber, a show from a franchise infamous for not-very-accurate portrayal of science, had an episode revolving around a real life game (it was Blacklight: Retribution). The episode wasn't even about how games are violent or anything. That's not to say it's not a crazy episode: one of America's most wanted cybercriminal is an illegal weapons seller who hacks the Blacklight accounts of teenagers to delete their inventory, then pretend to be a friendly player who will give them free items in exchange for them delivering unmarked packages containing disguised guns to his buyers.
