Is there any video game series that could be mapped out like this where characters from one entry will show up in another entry to basically serve as a teaser for an upcoming entry.

Mônica no Castelo do Dragão was really great, I remember knowing even then that it was a poorly made re-skin

Do assassin's creed games have continuity. I've never played one.

I read somewhere that lovecraft would encourage other writers to use his characters and make stories like they are from the same universe, maybe the people doing bloodborn did so in this spirit

Some people say all Ubisoft games take place in one universe because a secret level in Far Cry 3 had a bunch of AC references, and some AC journal entries have references to other Ubisoft games, but that all seems more like little Easter eggs than any sort of future plot teaser or separate universe thing.

Since its the same 50 studios making the same game over and over again with different graphical tweaks, I wouldn't be surprised if that area exists because somebody didn't get the memo as to which game they were making and accidentally crossed the streams.

Paper Triangle posted:the map of the trails series some dude posted in the trails thread looks like that. No worries dude. For the record there's very little connection to the games in that chart outside of the Gagharv Trilogy and the Trails games, so I wouldn't really count it as a whole. Trails games by themselves tho, maybe. It's like 8 games at this point and according to the creator they are only 70% done.
