This is way too many points in an agility 1 ship but it would be so much fun to fly I think I'll do it anyway. Zuckuss (28) Veteran Instincts (1) 4-LOM (1) Advanced Sensors (3) Cloaking Device (2) Tractor Beam (1) Mist Hunter (0) Engine Upgrade (4) Total: 40 Decloaking to the side followed by an AdvS barrel roll let's you effectively do a 4 speed barrel roll with twice the normal forward or backward translation all pre manoeuvre. You should be extremely unpredictable and can attack from a ton of weird vectors which should cause your opponent headaches. Another option is to decloak forward, AdvS barrel roll and then 4 k-turn. If you are on the edge of range 3 you should be able to get behind your opponent in the first engagement because it is effectively a 7.5 speed k-turn (.5 from barrel rolling forward). I've made a diagram using vassal of just a couple of places you can end up, it is of course mirrored on the other side too. The X-Wing moves as slow as possible to try to keep its arc as wide as it can. If they called the right direction for your decloak and did a 1 bank towards you, then there is always the option of barrel rolling or boosting in the opposite direction to bug out. I doubt they will pull a k-turn going into the joust though so your own k-turn should be fairly safe for you. Please excuse the Starviper art, there are no art assets for the Mist Hunter yet in vassal. The barrel roll before the k-turn is only necessary if the enemy is moving after you and that should be rare at PS9 so you could actually take a focus or target lock instead. You could also boost forward or left instead of rolling depending on where the rocks are. You have so many options your opponent will have to be psychic. You use your tractor beam and 4-LOM only when it's going to make a big difference, say you have arc on soontir and you can make him drive through a rock next turn or it is going to set up a kill shot from someone else etc. Just thought of this too for more flexibility and being able to hand off that stress at the end of the turn: 4-LOM (27) Stay On Target (2) Zuckuss (1) Advanced Sensors (3) Cloaking Device (2) Tractor Beam (1) Engine Upgrade (4) Mist Hunter (0) Total: 40 All the same movement shenanigans except you can change your maneuver to get into range one, get a stress and then hand it off at the end of the turn. Helps if you need to abort because the enemy predicted your move too. Unfortunately you lose the PS advantage which kind of negates stay on targets viability. Still could be fun to test. What are the currently most competitive two-ship lists? I know from some research that two-ship isn't common beyond brobots, and that the game is currently VSP vs 3-4 ship rebel stresshogs, but I WANT TO BELIEVE in I haven't played since wave two, and would like to dip my toe back into wangs without suffering a total mental breakdown from my old TIE swarms (it'll be easier to learn all the new fiddly widgets and mechanics if I'm only touching two dials a round)

Poe (T70 Xwing) is good, Corran (EWing) is good, 3 Z-95s are good...really just pick something that you like. If you want to be competitive in a tournament sense you probably won't be flying a two-ship list, but if you just wanna have fun? Play whatever.

So I found a local store (The Gaming Goat in Joliet, IL) that has a chill owner. I picked up another core set, this time the old trilogy one, and a TIE Phantom and a soon-to-be-coming B-Wing for 50 flat. I was going to go home after picking it up but there was a guy there that was interested in it. I haven't officially played yet but we did just a basic match with no skill cards and uses nameless pilots. We had a blast! The owner had a TFA core set and another fighter, and the guy I played was most likely going to nab those. It's very real I could start a gathering there to play games and have tourneys. Is there anything I should be wary about if I get more involved? Also, was 50 a good deal for a core set and two fighters?

You should be worried about buying all the x-wings and I dont know about currency conversions but that seems like a solid deal just checking online, would normally be about 35 + 15 +15? Make sure unless its a tournament (even then unless its official who cares) or something that everyone is always cool with using proxies of cards. It makes getting into the game and trying stuff out to see if you should buy something a really good idea.

I agree, also there should be two factions in a starter really, and rebel vs. imp makes sense, but who do you put against scum? They are a little bit of a third wheel in this respect,. (a cool third wheel, but still) ... I got excited and already bought 1,000 points of ships for the fleet for the empire for this galactic campaign i'm running. (That can buy you a lot of ships!).
