I stopped playing the 360 version shortly before Dark Arisen was released, are healer/buff mage pawns still valuable for BBI or does everyone just use items at that point? My medicant/nexus heal and buffbot made me a hell of a lot of rift crystals back then (assuming they actually fix pawn rewards)

Stupid question, but what's the keyboard/mouse control to cast a buff on yourself? I can't figure out how to target myself and not a party member with boon spells.

yeah seriously, there are no downsides to switching vocations around whenever you feel like other than having to keep a ton of weapons up to par before you can get mega rich unless you're a min-maxer of course but don't be one of them

Actually, now that I look at it, it's up there with Gryphic Victory. I always wrote it off because most things before BBI that are especially weak to blunt aren't themselves very substantial. Definitely not bad, since block effectiveness is reliant on the shield. Yeah, if you're sticking with fighter, definitely worth the trouble. Only other thing to note is the Mercedes has a little trouble surviving the trip. Ser Berne on the other hand is a freakin' machine. My first trip I escorted Berne, and then Mercedes. Took the same route, and figured the Chimera wasn't going to be an issue, because there were no troubles with Berne around. I was wrong. There were significant problems named Mercedes.

Early in the game, how can you change your Pawn's primary inclination to something useful without spending rift crystals? My Strider pawn is currently set on Scather, which isn't actually that bad especially against the big beasties, but I'd like to try and bump that down to #2 so the pawn uses the shortbow more often and runs into mobs and gets murdered a tad less. I'm guessing you need to do the thing that ties with that inclination, but I'm not sure how to go for something like Challenger or Mitigator without it also bumping up Scather.

But you need to purify lv.2/3 cursed weapons to get them so if you can kill the Ur-Dragon without much trouble it wouldn't hurt to do. Especially since there are some enemies on BBI that are very weak to holy.

Meanwhile playstation's main audience seems to be JRPG and anime fans, while the xbox has a lot of FPS lovers.

Swapping over to Sorcerer from a maxed out Strider was a bit of a whiplash, but I'll deal with it till I get some of the super powerful spells. Shooting to be a MA but I want to touch on Assassin too at some point. I played this for ages on the 360 but in the past 2 or 3 days I've kinda realized I didn't really appreciate the better parts of the game. edit: has anyone taken Danny DeVito out for a spin yet? I think he's a pretty good Warrior, except maybe for the part where he loves climbing all over poo poo basically endlessly. I just grabbed GUTTS, a 9 foot tall Warrior man who is scary as poo poo but really great in a fight. Two warriors and two sorcerers make up a hell of a team. I made it to Gran Soren, stuffed some poo poo in the bank, bought some armor and better daggers and upgraded them, got eaten by an ogre in the pawn shop cellar. I decided to do some quests instead and got a quest to escort a peddler somewhere to the northwest but I met an armored cyclops and some bandits on the way that I beat, but it left me somewhat wounded. Then I ran into another cyclops on a narrow mountain path which I decided to run past and met some bandits that killed me (I think the bandit there was part of the grimoire quest). There's really no good indication of what areas I should be sticking to while I get to grips with the game and the quests don't indicate the difficulty level either. Should I just go around hunting goblins for a while? I'm level 12 and I can't put any damage at all onto the ogres so I had to run from another one in a mine west of Gran Soren. Edit: I'd also like an invite to the steamgroup. http://steamcommunity.com/id/Demiurge/ Demiurge4 fucked around with this message at 23:36 on Jan 17, 2016 |

The crypt under the pawn guild is where you are "supposed" to go next, it's generally around your level except for the ogre. I have no idea why that ogre is there because you legitimately can't be expected to kill it at the level you'd be at when you're there to do the quest. The easiest way to be rid of it is to use gravity to your advantage and get it to charge right off the stairs and into the pit. I think that may be the intended method of ridding yourself of it, too.

This is a issue many people might run into, so a quick few tips for folks; The strength of enemies doesn't really denote quest or level requirements for that area or areas beyond it What I mean by this is there are places where crazy powerful bandits that can one shot you hang out, and you have to go through them to get to somewhere where wolves hang out. Basically the best thing you can do is quests, cause they give shitloads of XP. Go do some in the first town, go to Bitterblack Isle and pick up all the quests there, then sprint through the dungeon for 20 minutes, you'll tick two quests off easily and get about 4-5 levels out the bag. This can give you enough survivability to start taking down cyclops pretty quickly. Ogres are health sponges that mainly require you to get some fire damage on your weapon and get a bunch of hits in.

2 questions. - If I hit level 200, I can still gain levels in vocations yes? It seems like vocation level = what skills I can buy, does it do anything else? - The Fighter uses a Sword, and shares many Sword skills with the Assassin. If I buy Downthrust while I'm a Fighter, do I just have Downthrust if I switch to Assassin? Or do I need to rebuy Downthrust for the Assassin? Insert other vocation as needbe, as I realize other vocations also share weapons.

Thanks for the info, I'll head back to the pawn cellar and see if I can get past the ogre. Is there a reliable way to get weapon buffs from my mage pawns? Fire is really strong against undead and most enemies, but having it applied is kind of a crapshoot most of the time.
