Alot of what's happened in the middle east is directly our fault all the way back to the 1950s. I don't know at what point this poo poo isn't out fault anymore though. ("our fault" being shared by the british and russians as well)

From an economic standpoint why do we even give a gently caress? it's not necessarily good for a country's economy to have large numbers of foreign refugees entering the country. obviously if people are fleeing and in need of help, the moral action is to help them, but ideally their homelands would not be ravaged with war in the first place.
