It might not have anything to do with flash, the tab crashes if there is any gifv/webm/gif embedded. e; okay gently caress if I know, could be anything. e; e; figured it out, it was one of the registry tweaks to enable e10s. reverting those stopped the crashes. i haven't checked this thread in over a year, so apologies if this has already been discussed: IF ANYONE HAS NOTICED THAT YOUTUBE SUCKS IN FIREFOX LATELY i just spent an hour finding the fix, so before you go blowing away your whole profile: Youtube's Subscriptions sidebar is the culprit for the freezing & slow loading (seems to mostly affect people with lots of subscriptions, in Firefox versions since around autumn last year). Go to the main youtube page (just https://www.youtube.com), open the sidebar, and use uBlock to select the entire Subscriptions element as shown: then click it to create a filter. The filter rule should appear in uBlock as follows (or you can just copy and paste this into your filter list directly if you'd prefer to do it that way): code:

The Milkman posted:privacy.trackingprotection.enabled true enables tracking protection globally, nice feature too! One thing to note, if you turn this on it will break images embedded from twitter's image host(http://pbs.twimg.com). I had this on for a while and I was wondering why people were making blank posts in various threads until I realized that tracking protection was stopping the images from loading. I couldn't find any way to customize what tracking protection blocked, so I ended up turning it off for regular browsing.

For some reason uBlock Origin started breaking syncing for Google Keep today. Does anyone know what might have broken that? I don't think I changed anything from the default subscription lists.

Or at least I think that's what I did. I have only a vague idea of what that thing in the uBlock popup does.

On the pull-out menu, click the logger (the table looking icon next to the dropper) and refresh the page. You can click the blocked links/elements and it will tell you which list is causing it.

I can't see the images in this post ever. I've tried disabling SALR, uBlock Origin, Privacy Badger, uMatrix, and HTTPS Everywhere, and nothing makes a difference. I tried a new profile, and I could see the images fine, both read and unread. What else can I try for troubleshooting?

If there isn't, maybe one of your addons is subscribed to the tracker blocking list Disconnect uses, which is the same list Firefox Tracking Protection uses.

Do you have privacy.trackingprotection.enabled set to true in about:config? Pairofdimes commented on that kind of issue with twitter's image host earlier on this page. Edit: Goddamn, it's a regular paddywhack machine in here today.

And if you need unsigned add-ons for a while, you can switch to the ESR build of Firefox 45 when it comes out, which will give you another year until it updates to 52.

We use ESR at work. Each ESR version is supported for security patches and maybe severe bugs for a full year after release, but then there's a new ESR version released every nine months, so there's a three-month overlap to give everyone time to upgrade.

So I'm still getting this weird bug in Firefox where, after it's been open for a few hours and I open a thread with images in it, none of the the text in the posts will load unless I mouseover an animated avatar. I finally managed to capture it with gooncam: Annoying as hell in some threads where no-one has an animated avatar. Even the stupid newbie avatar is unanimated now.

I don't know exactly what's going on but it likely has to do with the custom web font we use here.

You probably noticed that the font is falling back to some other font when you do that. (I'd bet it's browser default and you can check by changing the default sans-serif font in Preferences/Content.) It might be an asset loading error or scripting error; without seeing what your page rendering log looks like when it happens no one can tell. (Also Firefox has had graphical glitches with Windows Intel drivers lately for some reason.)

If it is a font issue, do you perhaps have uBlock installed? There is an option in uBlock to block remote fonts.

Hmm. Firefox 44.0 seems not to like being called by external programs. I've crashed it by clicking a toaster notification of new mail from gmail, and using the /wiki command in Guild Wars 2. Of course it doesn't happen every time, and it comes back up nice and quick, so I'll just have to hope someone more familiar with the software comes across the same thing.
