Honestly not sure, so far as I can tell it's because we do still want that deterrence/response option, in case the other guy decides to use his nukes. So yes, game theorists. Although, after some research, the government is making an effort to make their nukes more useable and dangerous, so I should probably amend that to "the government is never going to annihilate all life on earth"

It's really amazing how gun owners are so loving paranoid "let's make it harder for criminals to buy guns" is considered going too far.

Like, if you have a clean history you are unaffected. It's what they WANT, keeping them away from criminals. But Obama bad man. Never compromise.
I think some of them know that society wouldn't consider them fit to have guns. They don't want to give up their guns just because some doctor said they have brain damage, or some judge said they can't stalk their ex wife or threaten their neighbors anymore. Look at the California law intended to prevent another Elliot Rodger tragedy by allowing police to hold a "high risk individual"'s guns for 21 days without a warrant. Some gunnies don't want theirs taken before they can carry out their plans to shoot bitches who won't gently caress them like they're entitled to, some fear that the government will overreach and take away their guns even though THEY'RE not dangerous, some fear that the feral urban hordes will invade their house and they'll be unable to protect themselves/their families if they go without a gun for 21 days.

So yeah, I understand why gunnies want easy, unlimited access to guns for everyone. Because they don't want to be the guy who gets on the "no gun for you" watchlist for any reason. Their sense of self-worth is so tied up in their ability to shoot early and often that it doesn't matter how many criminals have guns, they are the good guy and they will be able to shoot to win.

The funny thing about this image is that given the huge number of pictures saying "COME AND TAKE THEM OBAMA I'M NEVER GIVING UP MY GUNS" they are admitting to being "bad guys." It's not really reasonable to compare the slavery of the classical world where a person could 'win' their way out with the slavery of the post-'enlightenment' West where gigantic leaps of logic allowed some races to be slave-holders of other races in generational perpetuity, but from what I understand Persian slavery was more lenient than Spartan slavery.

The way ammunition is consumed in america at times (or maybe all the time, I haven't kept up) is hilarious. Its harder to get ammo in a more common caliber than a popular christmas toy; people just swoop in the second a store restocks and buy everything. All thats left is wildcats and expensive stuff.

The Achaemenids practiced slavery (despite Cyrus the Great attempting to ban it), but it was more or less reserved for prisoners of war and rebels, and their word for "slave" was essentially interchangeable with "dependent". Debt slavery was defacto banned, and the overall number of slaves probably pretty small.

On the other hand, Sparta invaded their neighbours with the explicit goal of enslaving entire populations and reducing them to servitude forever. Every year, the Spartans ritually declared war on their slave population so they could be killed for any reason by anybody, and the one of the last steps of training in the Spartan academy before graduation was a night where the graduates had to sneak around murdering as many slaves as possible before being caught. This is in addition to weird random loyalty tests, like asking asking for slave volunteers to join the army in exchange for freedom, then murdering everyone who volunteered.

So yeah, one was significantly worse than the other. I guess the best you could say about the Spartans was that they were consistent, what with it being a North Korea-esque military state with secret police, and who changed alliances and broke their oaths at the drop of a hat. Like, there's a reason that the rest of Greece liked Sparta as much as they loved the clap.

Wait, What?

If it makes you feel better the Spartan caste system was so restrictive, and the number of actual citizens so low, that they literally couldn't exist without slave (Helot) labour. Once the Thebans liberated the region of Messenia (where most of the Spartan Helots were from), Sparta collapsed and never recovered. Their only impact after the collapse was repeatedly souring several Anti-Macedonian alliances. Like, they showed up and said "Hey, we'd like to join up with you and fight the Macedonians" and everyone else went home rather than work with them.

By the time of the Roman Republic Sparta was essentially the equivalent of Colonial Williamsburg, and really only existed so obnoxious Roman tourists could whip peanuts at them.

How can this black woman be in charge of a major office responsible for white house events? They must be personal assistants, since women don't manage things.

Now why would Michelle Obama say that we should stand up against racism in our families, and why would you be against that, EPORW?

I just don't trust that n******

It's racist to systematically oppress and plunder the wealth of African Americans over the course of three centuries, require them to buy a government service in order to exercise their right to vote, then shut down all the government service providers in majority black counties. (like Alabama did)

is Barney Fife the last cultural reference these people retained?

We found some black guys carrying stars and bars. Thererfore, NOT RACIST.
(Still a traitor flag)

Are we just making up racist flags now?

I couldn't find a nice pairing for this but really it pairs well with EPORW as a whole

Back to Michelle. Get this: her designer dress is expensive. I believe you will find that the Obamas claim to be against poverty, while THEY THEMSELVES ARE RICH!
But wait, if she wears WalMart clothes then she's not respecting the office. Must be something besides her clothes they're objecting to.
(Also, celebrities get free dresses from design houses all the time. I'm sure Narisco Rodriguez loved the free publicity here. The dress sold out the next day)

your assumptions about me is apparently flawed....MLK never preached for reparations he wanted equality....Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton have preached reparations....MLK never bitched or moaned about anything, he is a leader that a movement for equality needed then and sorely lacks now. As for the Irish Became White....up to just before we were born the oppression of Irish Americans was very prevalent throughout areas of the country including our area....I have heard first hand of people seeing help wanted signs designating "Irish need not apply" in small towns all around St. Louis etc. You Sir should try to find a bit about history that is not confined to getting your references from Snopes or books.

Same Random Dude posted:

Martin Luther King Jr never preached reparations? That would be news to MLK Jr. (See video below) Everything you complained about with Sharpton and Jackson was complained about with MLK Jr. during his time. While he is looked back on today as a peaceful man who sought equality; during his time, he was called a race baiter, an agitator, a communist, an unamerican traitor, an inciter of violence and riots, and even an anti-white person (they would have used a different word to describe him) who wanted to destroy the entire white population. But at present times, it is harder to call him that publicly, so instead it is dog whistle white supremacist memes shared on the day meant to honor his fight.

Yep, the Irish were oppressed (I know about the Irish need not apply signs). They were oppressed until they were needed for political power. Those in power feared poor whites (including the Irish) would join up with blacks to form a powerful voting block which would disrupt the status quo. While blacks were being held back politically (poll taxes, poll tests, absolute refusal, intimidation, terror, murder) or economically (share cropping and tenant farming) or geographically (red lining) or socially (a criminal justice system that replaced slavery with forced free labor, black codes and Jim Crow laws), the Irish were being brought into power while specifically being told that the blacks were out to get them (take their jobs, hurt their women). Laws were even passed in some areas making it illegal for blacks and whites to meet together in a social setting (creating unions or discussing laws, etc). Combine that with segregation (which did not really apply to the Irish) and suddenly you realize that the last 100+ years prove that there was a massive difference.

But here is the video showcasing MLK advocating for reparations.
