Unless I never found it there's no way to not be ambushed and grabbed by them either so hope you have a pawn with you.

it pisses me off that there isnt a general dodge move and you gotta press two buttons and use the daggers instead of a cool sword to get it + double jump.

I think there was some coy hinting from
Capcom that the PC release was a way to kick off interest in preparation for a sequel

A pawn just knocked out a crapload of ore from a lodestone with a broadsword, and here i've been using a pickax like a rube.

If there's a sequel I want a giant ominous tower in the center of the map (think Darm Tower from Ys) that has Bitterblack isle style gameplay and you can go there at any point in the game.

Yeah, all this hype is really making me hope that Deep Down/Dragon's Dogma Online are good :pray::pray:

I could really just go for a Dark Souls 2 style "here's the exact same bowl of slop but bigger!" game though

Oh man. Like a combination of Dragon's Dogma gameplay and the structure of FF6 World of Ruin where you can go to the finale at any time but the dungeon will generally rock your poo poo unless you're extremely prepare, or you can spend as much time as you want outside and overlevel if you want. That would be amazing!

I wonder if they got sidetracked by SFV since that announcement kinda came out of nowhere and they've gone from 0 information to full release in something like less than a year . Idk how Capcom works or how big it is though. Talking about my rear end at the moment.

If you have a portcrystal *cough*(like the one in the dragonforged's hangout north of gran soren, just look for the big-rear end picture of an arisen carved into the hillside) just slap it down on the ground and teleport to cassardis and have a snooze, then teleport back to your portcrystal when you wake up. other than that, you might get lucky and run into one of the backpack guards scattered around the world that let you rest and deposit items

Are portcrystals reusable. Also I took the quest to clear Watergod's Altar and I was very sad that I didn't get to just autocomplete it since I've already done that.

Yeah. You can drop it, return to town, warp back and pick it up and continue where you left off.

wait how do you roll/dodge?

Good Lord Fisher!
Jul 14, 2006

Dodge is RB + A/R1 + X/CTRL + spacebar, with daggers equipped. as for portcrystals, I find some good places to put them to be: bloodwater beach, the abbey, that little raised part next to cassardis when you leave the witchwood the back way, the shadow fort, the northern waycastle thing north of gran soren, the greatwall encampment. keep one in your inventory though for everyday use making quick trips back to town and back to where you were
