I don't see the problem, this dude probably has been doing that exact maneuver twice a day for 5 years.

JB50 posted:Sounds more like the guy wanted some pain meds and to get on disability to me. falling in a sitting position is a lot more painful than you'd expect, especially if you can't get your arms out quick enough to absorb some of your weight. I got knocked down like that in gym class, it hurt really bad for like a week and you can't do anything about it except take painkillers and sit on one of those donut pillows for people with butt problems.

JB50 posted:Sounds more like the guy wanted some pain meds and to get on disability to me. Possible, but as has been mentioned, landing on your tailbone on concrete with nothing to cushion your fall can also hurt like a bitch. And to contribute: Since I'm not about to post pictures from my own workplace (covering up logos doesn't help given that my company's equipment is bright-rear end green), here's something I posted in AI a while ago: EKDS5k posted:Are we doing comically oversized trailers?

I think it was a mobile crane inspection or operation class, can't remember which one they attended. I'm keeping exactly which company I work for still anonymous while I work for them for obvious reasons; there's multiple companies in the US (including at least two in my state) that handle this, so it's not easy to guess. I'd appreciate it if nobody tried to be weird and pry.

I bruised my tailbone when my feet went out from under me on some slippery stairs once. I was in bed or hobbling slowly for about a week, and at the time I was a 22 year old in reasonably good shape. (Maybe if I had a fatter rear end it wouldn't have bruised so bad. ) I remember that rolling over on the couch was a complicated process involving both arms, about 2 minutes, and a lot of pain. Tailbone bruises are no joke.

You hit the ground with the same impact if you are going 0 mph as you do going 50 mph. Your head is going to experience the same free fall from ~6 ft up.
