Secret of Metamorphisis is a POST-GAME item, not a New Game+ item. Now I'm stuck with a tiny dwarf with a squeaky voice. Hire Dr. Mantis to make me feel better. He's a pretty decent fighter.

It feels like there are far more of the bandit captains or whatever compared to the ps3 version. I'm level 17 trying to do the shadow tower escort and keep running into groups that have 2-3 of them that take forever to kill and i have to run away form to make sure i never get hit by them

Fish Fry Andy posted:I just watched my main pawn solo an Eliminator while barely taking damage. You're probably just hiring pawns with low bestiary knowledge of BBI bosses. When I first hit the island my pawn struggled with every enemy type and didn't seem to do much of anything, but now that she's hit two star knowledge for most enemies she's pretty competent and rarely ever goes down. When I'm hiring pawns (especially mages) I generally look to make sure they have a good amount of BBI enemy knowledge. Really? I've got two star BBI enemy knowledge on my main utilitarian/challenger sorcerer pawn for most of the enemies in there and most of the time she refuses to engage or simply stares at it blankly until it kills her or gets vacuumed into death loops against wargs biting her in the face while she tries to cast fulmination. I have a really frustrating time trying to get my pawns to actually engage things reliably even when I'm hiring aggressive inclinations and spamming the Go command. I would love to have pawns actually contribute again because half the time I've been tempted to not even bring them since I spend most of my boss fights running around and picking up my dead idiot pawns. The first time I ran into an eliminator was hilarious because it killed every pawn I had every single time it attacked.

Is there a way to tell how much damage you're doing to the Ur-Dragon? I'm pretty sure the health bar moved, so that's a good thing right? If it helps, I was just spamming holy enchanted Dragon's Dogma on dual Great Cannons. EDIT: The health bar definitely moved then, I managed to pop off one of the health bar dots. I'm with you, buddy. Particular in games like this where there are hundreds of different potentially-useful items, and item rarity varies wildly from "so common you step past it" to "farm this poo poo for hours before seeing one". In other news, I killed teh dargon this morning and am magickally arching my way through post-game. I hate sorceror in early / mid game, when goblins and bandits are still a thing. But about 30 or so levels of suffering is enough for me to be pretty drat happy about my current damage.

I've been considering changing my ranger pawn to strider and giving him a rusted bow, because man torpor sure is great. But then I remember how he blows goblins across the map or plugs dozens of arrows into monsters I'm climbing and I can't bring myself to do it. I'm gonna have to start carrying rusted weapons myself

Because when they're picking the personality having a pawn who 'stays close and protects you' sounds good, like they wont run off like an idiot and kill things you're trying to avoid. And you can raise the inclination super easily by trying ti corral your pawns in battle. Most people do not read forums or analysis, or even know what inclinations are or what they do.

Do you have Godsbane? Save game. Open chest. If you don't get what you want, kill yourself and try again. It's tedious, but it beats resting however many days it takes to reset the chests.
