Does anyone know when modules last went on sale?
I want to say it looks like maybe twice a year they'll put it on sale?
I'm tempted to pick up some modules but being able to pick up 2 for the price of 1 simply by having some discipline seems to be the better option.

Picked this back up after about a year or two, before they even introduced the Clan mechs. Grabbed the Stormcrow and have been having a hell of a time with it. Been using a 3x LL a lot which has been great, but I'm starting to explore a few other options. Just finished a match with a U/AC20 and 5x SL on Polar Highlands with 990 dmg and 660 match score.

Brawling is pretty fun, what are the top mechs out there for it? Preferably on the tankier side.

The OP mentions in passing baby's first dropdeck. The problem is that it consists of clan mechs (2x Stormcrow, Arctic Cheetah, Timberwolf). What's a decent starting dropdeck to work towards if you're Inner Sphere?

I run 2 atlases and 2 locusts in mine, but this is not what you should do. If you really want 2 atlases, it leaves you 65 tons for 2 mechs. So, firestarters, ravens, jenners - note that IIC mechs aren't IS.

You usually want at least one mean light for 'everyone light rush and leg the other team' trade-up shenanigans.

You can do pretty well with peek-and-poke mechs without ammo. Otherwise, all these recommendations are good.

The laziest method is to just take your 4 best or most fun mechs that total 265 tons or less and go.

It dies so fast while brawling compared to any other medium that can carry srm's. Sure like anything you can do well if you are a good pilot, but almost anything else makes a better medium brawler. The CT is probably the largest of any medium mech.

I don't disagree that there's certainly many better choices than the Shadow Cat, but there's also a lot worse you can do. I think it's better with SRMs than the Cent A or Hunch SP, but definitely doesn't compare to the Griffin and Stormcrow.

Sweet Christ, the CTF-0xp is such a relief after wading through the swamp of poo poo that was the CTF-3D. I wish this thing was the hero version, it is indescribably satisfying to waltz behind a team and get a chain of nearly instant kills with the AC/20 and four MPL to the rear CT.

Buy one before the sale ends.

That's also a big reason why I'm holding on to my SCats. If it can get even a little more CT structure and then a substantial buff to MASC (IT BETTER BE MORE THAN 10% SPEED, YOU JERKS), that'll be awesome.

This is solid gold. Thunderbolts are excellent and make for a great IS deck backbone. There are also several good ones so it's not a chore to basic out. Blackjacks are great, and that battlemaster is well quirked with high mounts.

You could also make variations swapping around Thunderbolts and/or stepping down the blackjack to a Firestarter and the Battlemaster up to an Atlas DDC. (I think, that might not be possible, I don't remember the exact weights in my head.) Anyway it's a good baseline to work around.

I think my old drop was two Thunderbolts, the LL Wolverine, and a Firestarter.

You'll win a lot of staring matches.

Do not skimp on ammo.

Oh it goes without saying that you're using a skill rank 5 AC/5 cooldown reduction module and the same for medium laser range.

I played MWO during beta and bought the founders pack, but haven't played since then. According to support "As a LEGENDARY founder you got 4 mechs + 20,000 MC + Founders tag and badges. We also added some mech rewards which will be injected when you log in into the client."

I seem to have 2160 premium hours too. What should I look at spending my mech bux on If anything? Or will the founders mechs be good enough for a while?

I used to play with WoL, do I need to request an invitation again?

Make sure to hit your premium time button on the website, not the ingame client - you can do it in chunk,s instead of forcing it all at once.

From what I remember, founders mechs are OK but the loyalty rewards ones are great - The Splatlas is amazing. Its the -S with 30% cbill and 4 missile hardpoints.

Don't spend MC on Champion mechs - the xp bonus isn't worth it. Some heroes are good, some aren't - find out what you enjoy and ask around before you pull triggers.

Hit some premium time and play, you'll be rolling in cbills in no time at all. Spend MC on mechbays, or wait for a sale.

My deck is mechs that I have fun playing. Hero CTF, Stalker, Cent and a GRF-2N.

I stopped playing in beta and just came back a few days ago and I have had top damage in CW a couple times. Play what you enjoy and don't be a slave to grognards who get grumpy at your choices. However make sure that you have a good setup for the mechs you love and don't be that guy with all LRMs.

Wish I could find a group that played CW at the times I do. I'm in Australia but I do shift work so I'm usually playing US or AU prime time depending on the day. Pubbies are just poo poo so poo poo. It's amazing watching a defend match being lost in the first wave.

I got a hankering for rapid-fire ballistics and decided to pick up a Jagermech DD. Dual UAC-5s is pretty fun! And effective. At least in the PSR Tier 5 ghetto where I'm currently stuck, I think people either freak out about the constant hammering or just don't realize how fast they're getting wrecked. I guess you can even cram a third UAC-5 on there but it looks like a squeeze and I'm not sure it's worth it.

The other two variants look less interesting thanks to the fairly bland quirks. I was looking at either 2 x AC-10 or 2 x AC-20, or I guess the A could load up on ASRMs pretty well. Anything I'm overlooking? Dual Gauss maybe?
