Put R3-A2 on Wes and you can keep a lot of the funcop capability. Going from five dice to six is enough to hit goddamn near everything, and with Keyan's ability and target lock gives you the ability to reliably one shot things with any combination of six green dice and hit points (with the possible exception of turtled up Interceptors).

Have you heard the Good News?

If STAW's thing was "roll a bucket of red dice at a man," might I suggest to you the following:

quote:

Miranda Doni Is Shooting At You©

Miranda Doni (40)
K-Wing (29)
Weapons Engineer (Crew; 3)
Advanced Proton Torpedoes (Torpedo; 6)
Extra Munitions (Torpedo; 2)
Long Range Scanners (Modification; 0)

Jan Ors
HWK-290 (25)
Adaptability (Elite; 0)
Hera Syndulla (Crew; 1)
Dorsal Turret (Turret; 3)
Engine Upgrade (Modification; 4)

Tala Squadron Pilot
Z-95 Headhunter (13)

Tala Squadron Pilot
Z-95 Headhunter (13)

Total: 99

Turn 1: acquire target locks with Miranda Doni.
Turns 2-whenever: SLAM around the map until you can get range 1 on a man.
Turn GO TIME: Boost Jan Ors into range if you have to, Focus before firing, and shoot seven (7) red dice at a man.
Turns after that: SLAM around the map until you can get range 1 on a different man.

You see where this is going. It's a terrible gimmick, but you could probably make someone angry with this.

Yeah, I'd considered him with as much aggro as Farlander is likely to draw. Something like:

Keyan Farlander (29)
Opportunist (4)
Fire-Control System (2)
Heavy Laser Cannon (7)

Wes Janson (29)
Veteran Instincts (1)
R3-A2 (2)

Biggs Darklighter (25)
R4-D6 (1)
Integrated Astromech (0)

I don't like not having at least a 1 point initiative bid, but there's nothing I really want to drop, either.

Looks good. Standard Poe is Standard. I'm a big fan of committing fully to the Stressbot thing by moving it to the Y-Wing and adding the title, but putting it on Wes is hardly a wrong answer.

I wasnt getting more than 1 or 2 rounds with opportunist and kept getting dodged by PS9s so i dropped it for VI and took AdSensors to TL before every red maneuver or BR into a better position before a red.

I like R4-D6 on Biggs. For the same cost as an R2 unit he garuntees no matter how hard they try to burn him down to get to the HVT behind him, he's soaking at least 3 shots.

Good point. I haven't seen a lot of either in my meta, so when in the combat order you stress them out hasn't been an issue, but if they're turning up in your OpFor that's solid business there.

The whole concept of R3-A2 amuses me. I imagine him just rolling around Echo Base bleeping out in binary: "Did you remember to turn off the stove?" "What do you think your wife is up to while you're off fighting for the Rebellion?" "You know you're never going to pay off that space college loan."

General Reiken is eventually all like "We could just wipe his memory and restore the default astromech personality core, but I think we can put this to work for us. Slot him in a Y-Wing and key the narrow band communications to our space laser guns in order transmit his aggravation to TIE pilots we're shooting at as well."

I picked up the Armypainter one the other day and the FLGS owner actually comped me on it because I'd mentioned I was getting it for judging the wang events, but it was only like 8 bucks MSRP.

Works really great, would recommend.

I have the armypainter one as well, works decently. My friend has another make (I dunno which) which has a thinner line (and is therefore better), I'll ask him what make he bought but even then the armypainter one is plenty accurate enough.

I'm planning to teach a friend of mine who has never played before and want to do a somewhat The Force Awakens-themed fight for him. I got the following two lists:

quote:

RED SQUADRON
Nemesis to Omega Squadron

98 points

PILOTS

Poe Dameron (36)
T-70 X-Wing (31), BB-8 (2), Push the Limit (3)

“Red Ace” (36)
T-70 X-Wing (29), R2-D2 (4), Comm Relay (3)

Red Squadron Veteran (26)

vs

quote:

OMEGA SQUADRON FOS
A bit of theme

100 points

PILOTS

“Omega Leader” (26)
TIE/fo Fighter (21), Comm Relay (3), Juke (2)

“Omega Ace” (23)
TIE/fo Fighter (20), Push the Limit (3)

Omega Squadron Pilot (17) x 3

Balance issues? The only thing I'm iffy on is using R2-D2, but he is in TFA soooo. Also having to buy another FO :v:

You can check out amazon/ebay for a "Laser Level". The cheap ones are really cheap and - I guess - don't incur in the "hobbyist market supercharged price" problem. I've got one for 10€ and it has both horizontal and vertical options. It's a bit bulkier than the models I usually see around though (size and shape of a regular mouse).
