In Terry Pratchett's Discworld book (and the Sky tv miniseries) The Hogfather the holiday Hogswatch (analogous to Christmas) sounds very much like hogwash. It's cool how he had anthropomorphic Death, the tooth fairy and the eponymous Hogfather be real in support of the childish spirit in fantasy. Actually pretty uplifting but never the less hogwash.

I just today put together that "static electricity" probably has something to do with its movement as opposed to an electric current. I'm sure the full explanation is more in depth than that but I somehow never put together in my head that it had anything to do with static=unmoving.

You don't have to pick a bar of soap up to use it when washing your hands. You can wet your hands, and just rub your fingers on it to pick up enough soap to lather your hands.

Wanamingo posted:The reason they never brought the reserve tanks back for any of the later Metroid games is because they were a really pointless and dumb idea Yeah, what exactly was the point of them? They were basically just weird clunky version of your regular health, a thing that already existed. They could have just given you more energy tanks instead and it would have had the same effect.

After being reminded of Disney's Atlantis for the first time in forever yesterday, I had the sudden realization that the King of Atlantis was played by Leonard Nimoy. Now I haven't watched that movie in a long-rear end time (as in years before I had even heard the name Leonard Nimoy), but that character's voice still somehow popped into my head and I was instantly like, "Holy poo poo, that was loving Nimoy."

In Spectre James Bond refers to Q as his quartermaster. Just now got that. In Casino Royale he implies M was part of Judi Dench M's name but it probably meant something else before her. No idea about C.

Wouldn't it be great if you had that autismal memory for different kinds of rocks where you could alienate everyone in your hiking party with gross puns. I totally would. This is a prime example of cuckingstone. It only forms when a cuckeurite smashes into common limestone and converts the surrounding minerals into cuckulite. The parents then raise it as their own. *titters*
