He'll do 99% of his running to score goals 1-4 and then do nothing for the remaining 12 games.

Drogba wasn't as prolific as he should've been. Not sure if it was injuries, laziness, or what. He averaged just 11 league goals a season while at Chelsea. It tells you a bit about how good he was in big matches that most people rate him so highly.

Drogba's holdup play was leagues better than Adebayors even when Ade fancied it, Lampard wasn't scoring 20 goals a season out of nothing.

Drogba was incredibly inconsistent and had plenty of times when he couldnt be hosed. His ambling about not giving a poo poo during the 2011-12 league season, when he was doing his best in the champions league prove that he was a lazy selfish prick. Hes far from being the best striker to play for chelsea, god knows how he gets rated so highly among the best premier league strikers ever, not even in the same stratosphere as Henry, Shearer, Suarez, Ruud etc. Known "terrible footballer" Wayne Rooney is a far better player than drogba ever was

Drogba wasnt as good as Jimmy Floyd Hasslebaink, and no amount of goals in mickey mouse cup finals like the league cup account for the fact he was massively overrated, he scored one header in the champions league final and suddenly hes the best striker ever, nope not having it, hes a lazy player who showed contempt for the fans by never giving his all every game

I was tired of Drogba in the 11-12 season but he really pulled it together and then went on to destroy Bayern in their home stadium. He was also great in cup finals and destroying Arsenal. He's the reason we started getting the best of Arsenal, a tradition which carries on to this very day. I think he is over rated but his actual contributions were more than most other Premier league strikers.

Drogba absolutely destroyed Arsenal every chance he got. It was the worst. It's fair to complain about him being overrated, but it's hard to objectively rate someone so mercurial.

ESPN is reporting that semi-promising New York Red Bulls/USMNT CB Matt Miazga will be sold to an unnamed BPL club in the next day or two. He has a Polish passport so the work permit is a non-issue. Good for him, though I guess I should hold the congratulations until the club is announced (a couple possibilities were Chelsea and Leicester, they reported)

Shane Lowry from Birmingham to Perth Glory is a done deal. Given that he's a defender, this is a good move for Perth, given that they literally have one recognised centre-back (two left, one's probably out for the season). Adam Taggart, who started against Spain in the World Cup and then his career died, is also returning to Perth but can't actually play until next season. Also for some reason Austrian club Sturm Graz want Jimmy Jeggo (who is garbage but runs a lot) and are down to agreeing personal terms with him.

Jimmy Jeggo iirc has Austrian heritage so maybe he'll fill a quota for domestic players or something, that's the only reason I can imagine them wanting him. That said, if he could tackle, dribble or shoot he'd be an alright midfielder
