especially considering that you combined with 'this generation' talk, which is kind of dumb in a world where adults all the way up to like 50 year old are surprised by and enjoy the twists of, like, game of thrones or walking dead, which run through basically the same beats as attack on titan in terms of characters dying.

and to your other point I've made the same criticism of the walking dead as well and would go further to say it's a pretty bad show! Aot has a lot of nice stuff going for it GoT is another monster but in terms of oh poo poo moments they do compare. it's much less telegraphed in genera tho, partially because the author himself says he's a little arbitrary about how he kills off
