Cool! Good to know! Wife wanted me to knock some books off the reading list and I've always liked All New X-Men while having 0 interesting in Uncanny, Extraordinary or Adjectveless, but I felt compelled to read Uncanny because of the crossing over.

The cover of All New Wolverine #7 is out. Looks like Gabby might be sticking around for a bit. I don't know if I'd have decided to make a Mini-Me part of Laura's supporting cast, but I suppose I can see the merit in it.

Their skills could probably be used by SHIELD or someone like that. Fury would probably love to have someone who actually wants to go around and blow stuff up and shoot people working for him for once.

Oh man, OLM was off to a fantastic start. I liked how Wolverine is well known enough that beat cops know who he is. The team that is standing over the dead ANAD Avengers looks like Whirlwind, Spiral, Red Skull, Owlman and Vision.

So I heard (spoiled just in case) mutants are back to being on the edge of extinction and most major mutant characters ie cyclops, wolverine have been killed off because the CEO of Marvel doesnt want to give free advertisement to Fox so is there any truth to that?

The reasoning isn't necessarily true, but the basic story you mentioned is kinda true. I mean, there's still a Cyclops and Wolverine, just not the usual ones.

No need to spoil that, it's from the last few months. It's sort of true. It was definitely the case last year, but Marvel eased off recently. There's 2 upcoming X-Men TV shows (which Fox needs Marvel's permission to make) and some new X-Men merchandise. They're fairing a lot better than the Fantastic Four. However Marvel still won't allow X-Men characters in new games, and may have shut down additional X-Men in existing games like Marvel Heroes.

Teenage cyclops from when he first joined the Xmen.

The old Cyclops. The original X-Men were brought forward in time. Young Cyclops is still around, old Cyclops died but probably not really.

I'm so far behind I'm not sure what the resolution was to that (if any), but apparently he's believed to have died trying to take out the Inhumans. Emma Frost is also missing, apparently she doesn't believe he's dead and she's looking for him or something.

No, they absolutely killed him off forever, while he was in possession of the power of a cosmic god named after the spirit of rebirth.

They could be making absolutely bonkers money from done-right X-Men movies, I could see how some execs would be carrying a grudge about that.

Yeah, X-men used to be their huge cash cow in the 90s, then the money moved to movies right after they signed the rights over indefinitely to someone else. As much money as Marvel's pulling in right now, they could have been making the literal billions the X-men movies have been making on top of it. Same with Spider-man, only not as severe due to the Andrew Garflops.

Even those flops made 700m+ on 250m budgets, so they're looking at 200m or so profit. Who wouldn't want a series that can fail and still make you 200 million?

IIRC, Fox gets merchandising money from those films and could theoretically hold on to the rights forever if they keep making films. Marvel is never getting the rights to X-Men back, and I doubt they'll get the rights to Fantastic Four back either because Fox would rather eat a bomb every now and then instead of letting Disney potentially make money off those characters.

Fox gets the money (or at least most of it) but Marvel has the contracts with the manufacturers, so that's why there's basically none for the recent movies. There's a Hot Toys Deadpool and that's about it.
