I vaguely remember the last one.

It scares me that HV has managed to survive well over a year. We should've been evicted or died to our own horrible incompetence, choking on our own bile long ago

fwiw your handover of the SV name has created a very active group. not the same, but very active. guy running it has some bad opinions (bhaalgorns are useless against caps bad) but he gets newbies in fleets and that's important

When he dumped a years worth of TMC's GBS logs. There was writers and editors real names and emails and things buried in there and somebody pointed it out, Marlona was like: "eh whatevs it was a fairly public channel with no expectation of privacy I cant be arsed to scrub it."

Then it was taken down from reddit due to their doxxing rules, Lucia Denninard from Pizza scrubbed it and resubmitted it.

The context of the time was the csm running not for last year but the year before. Marlona has always bitched and moaned about force projection which is odd coming from an Ncdot guy but he never spent much time flying with his alliance anyways.

He did spend months and months scanning all of Fountains moons and uploading where all the R64's are and even started Deklein too.

So he runs for the csm on a platform of: "nerf force projection and nerf large, organized alliances and return eve to the glory days of small gang roaming." He made some blog pieces and forum posts and the general discussion around his platform was like: yeah you're an idiot your travel restrictions and ideas are bad. Retroactively he now claims to be the herald of fozzie sov and jump fatigue.

I cant remember approximately when he got booted from TMC, or when the log dump happened in connection to the csm thing but basically at the end he got all tinfoil about somebody (some large and highly organized, nefarious group) trying to "silence" him and his csm campaign to protect their rmt empire.

So he withdrew his csm campaign, biomassed his character, (some theta guy claimed that name) and quit eve. Was silent for about a year and came back to sperg once more on FHC about the kickstarter.

Theres a lot of other wild and crazy claims and accusations in there but you get the gist about what kind of grade-a shitelord this guy is.

Range, frequency or making it super expensive (which they actually tried before fatigue by tweaking isotope prices) was always part of the discussion.

I was still writing for TMC when Marlona got dumped, in fact it was Marlona who helped get myself and other non-CFC writer hired at TMC. I seem to remember a pretty systematic narrative being crafted against Marlona, and he was"fired" because he bucked against the editors and the changes they wanted to make to his articles. He was fired because they said he was difficult to work with, and wouldn't respond well to the "changing" culture of TMC. This is what was posted in the bullpen where we all communicated privately.

I was also in NCdot with Marlona for his entire time there (and well after) and he was pretty active especially on alts but spent much of his time doing support activities, scanning, scouting, etc, and devoted a lot of time working for TMC, something for a long time he took great pride in.

My perspective, since I was there both in alliance with him, and working for TMC and in the bullpen with the editors, is that they wanted to cast him out, so they found a reason to. They kept justsharkbait and I, the two other NCdot writers for the site, because (their words) we were easier to work with and more agreeable, and consistently garnered far higher page views (to be fair, I mostly cherry picked articles I knew would get views, and I was openly critical about ncdot/PL even as a member which the TMC audience liked).

I don't know about the log dump, I know it happened well after he was terminated, but I think Marlona had some justification to believe that there was some kind of cabal against him. I'm not saying I believe it, but from his perspective I can see why it was completely plausible.

From my perspective, at TMC, you're fairly treated and viewed as a friend and asset, right up to the point where you're not. I was terminated from TMC for the same kind of allegeded reasons as Marlona, but it's no coincidence it was at the same time I was also kicked from goonswarm.

Marlona after being kicked from TMC generally become kind of a piece of poo poo though, both in alliance and in private, saying I should quit too and I was a traitor for not walking out after he got fired. His perspective on issues became very skewed and he had a massive axe to grind after that point.

Basically, having been there before and after personally, the whole affair caused him to go kind of off the deep end.

Because of how some people had their stuff setup (mostly using Adium) the logs had their IRL names due to the login info being like Fix_Lag@JohnDoesMac.com or whatever, so it had their IRL names. The same sort of thing also was how a few people's IRL email addresses were also included in those logs.

When he was called out on it he doubled down and first said there was no IRL info, then swapped over to just acting pedantic and obtuse over it and ignored all the people telling him off. Lucia Denniard, who hosted the logs iirc, didn't know so she removed them really quickly after being told.

The second time was when he posted Skype logs from the PL IT thing a few weeks back that included one of the PL IT guys IRL name. Again, he said he didn't know that was in there (which is silly since you know, he would have seen it had he read them), and again doubled down etc. Grath got really mad about it since it was someone's IRL info he was good friends with and a guy who genuinely wasn't involved in the poo poo, just a bystander.

He got fired because he was a manchild who couldn't handle people editing his writing, constantly stirred up poo poo, and the final nail was when he misattributed a quote by Travis Musgrat saying "get lynched" (something you don't really want to do on a news site) in a piece that he admitted to making up quotes for.

Ultimately, his lovely attitude and incessant "i'm too good to be edited, asked to write a piece, etc." that led to him being fired more than any single incident. People were just sick of his poo poo. The guy who decided to fire him wasn't GSF/CFC affiliated either, he was a legit editor/writer and was basically tired of having to baby Marlona while trying to run the site and work with a dozen other writers who were less of a hassle.

Yeah, I remember the "get lynched" thing now that you say it. I never said he got kicked for being in NCdot or not being affiliated with GSF or anything. I'm not even questioning the merits of why he got kicked as I felt like we basically told the same story. I distinctly remember it was editing disagreements as the catalyst for his removal, I just felt like he had ALWAYS been like this, and it was simply tolerated until people felt like it shouldn't be anymore, which coincided with a change in leadership structure at TMC and editorial staff.

What I questioned though, was what was said at the time of his termination, and the systemic poo poo flinging that occured afterwards against him, because I really do feel like for awhile he made good contributions to the site.
