SpRahl posted:Can I get TLDR of Bridgegate? Ive heard about it before but kinda unsure about what it was all about. Christie wanted endorsements from democratic mayors to show he was a bipartisan leader. One mayor didn't, and his town was right off the bridge, so Christie aides closed lanes on the GWB to create a traffic jam there. That's about it afaik

SpRahl posted:Can I get TLDR of Bridgegate? Ive heard about it before but kinda unsure about what it was all about. In retaliation for not supporting him, Christies administration shut down 2 lanes on a bridge. Because of that traffic was insane, medical service couldn't get across it and people died. Christie claims he had no knowledge and fired the people behind it.

Oil! posted:Isn't that, along with follow up questions, what got CNBC in trouble? It was a confluence of issues. But remember, during the CNBC debate they read the statements back to them rather than played video. That's a massive difference, because the optics of the former make it easier for viewers to believe that CNBC was staging a political stunt.

KAISCH. NO. THE RIGHT ANSWER WAS TO JUST WINK AND SAY, "JUDGE NOT LEST YE BE JUDGED." However, that was a legit good response, which is why he will never get the Republican nomination.
