Most of what people post here is from the frozen section, which is pretty sad, and you should not feel bad. On that note I will unironically give the Kirkland Cheese Pizza a thumbs up. It really is just a well balanced little tza that crisps up nicely without getting hard and one of the only frozen pizzas I've thought to myself "I'm eating this because it tastes good" rather than "I'm eating this because it took 10 minutes in the oven". E: it might also make you happy to know that literally every Costco member in Ottawa makes a monthly pilgrimage to the Gatineau warehouse because wine and beer. Quebec Costco is pretty legit. Please push your local mpp to allow liquor sales in grocery stores so they can carry vodka and be truly world class Costco. Math You has a new favorite as of 06:38 on Jan 19, 2016 |

We will take back loving anything. Trust me, you do not know how many plants I've seen that were never watered, or boxes of fruit that were forgotten in the back of a pantry.. What you return doesn't necessarily need to have come from Costco if you piss and moan enough either.

What you return doesn't necessarily need to have come from Costco if you piss and moan enough either. When I worked at a (lovely, tribal) Casino, they kept pushing this vision of creating an experience for the guest that made them think, "Wow!" They never did anything to make that happen, it was a place for octogenarians to go to die, but it's not a bad goal. Costco's return policy and the way they apply it is an example of something that accomplishes that goal. The first time you see some rear end in a top hat go up to the service desk with a TV that they ran over with their truck, and the employee just says, "Was there anything wrong with it before you ran it over? No? Okay here's your four thousand dollars have a nice day!", that sticks in your mind. You know that, as someone with a modicum of ethics, if anything goes wrong with anything you buy from that place, they're going to take care of you and you're not going to have to pull teeth for the privilege. It's a big, big deal when every other corporation on the planet will go out of its way to ruin your day if you have the misfortune of needing to deal with them to solve any kind of problem. Guys, I'm not gonna return food I didn't like. That's just... no. Now if I found a bug in it or something, yea I'd probably freak out and request a refund or something, but just because the food sucked I'm not gonna drive 30 mins out of my way to bring a big pan of lasagna to a desk and go "Didn't like it, gimme my 10 bucks back". I've hit low points in my life, but nothing as bad as having to return food to a store.

When I worked at Costco for a month in December 2014 (seasonal...clothes folder), our manager said that they had people bring back those big bakery sheet cakes with maybe 2-3 pieces missing and artificial Christmas trees in January. They will take back anything.

Oh I should note electronics are 90 days for straight up return. However, all Costco electronics do have a 2 year warranty that includes in home service for TVs over 40'. I haven't dealt with the warranty dudes myself but I hear they are good. Also there is a different company between Canada and U.S. so there may be small differences (I work at the CDN head office so that's my point of reference) Edit: the Xmas tree returns in January are real. I think that's just a Christmas ritual for some assholes. Math You has a new favorite as of 22:39 on Jan 23, 2016 |

One time the store I worked it accepted an outdoor playhouse that looked like they bought it when the kids were little and returned it when they went to college judging by the weathering of the wood on it. poo poo sat on the dock for almost two weeks before we could get rid of it.

I used to work for a salvage company that worked with Cosco, that bought up overstocks and returns, setting up those gyms to make sure they were whole were a pain in the rear end, and usually took up at least 3 skids themselves. We have had good reasons for returns, like gremlins in the microwave. A stove and pot set, because they hosed up and melted a pot onto a burner. So many things returned worked fine and were barely used.

My Costco just brought back my favorite stuffed grape leaves, and they're bringing in fresh Hawaiian ahi tuna poke this weekend as part of the seafood roadshow. Last weekend, I was closer to another Costco in a nicer part of town that I rarely visit, and they had whole smoke whitefish from Acme Smoked Fish in Brooklyn for about $8 per pound. I brought home a two-pounder and made the best whitefish salad. That was a very pleasant surprise.

My Costco stopped carrying Trisquits a couple years ago. I'm still bitter about it and walk up and down every aisle looking for them every time I go, but they haven't shown up. When I happen to go to some other Costco when I'm travelling or whatever, there they are. Trisquits at a fraction of the price I pay in the regular grocery store.
