I like how much more lived-in the cities feel than they did in Euro Truck. The texturing on the outsides of buildings isn't pristine anymore and looks realistically weathered, plus they did all the little storefronts and building interiors and stuff. It's really nice. Can you drive down the Strip? I went through Vegas earlier and saw Mandalay Bay and Luxor in the distance but didn't get to actually go over there.

Primm used to be named "Stateline" because it's the first real place after you cross the California/Nevada border. It's basically nothing but three casinos: Primm, Buffalo Bill's, and Whiskey Pete's (all three owned by the Primm company, I think). It's basically where you stop if you're driving to Vegas and get too impatient and want a hand of blackjack NOW DAMMIT. They eventually just changed the name to Primm because that's all that is there. Fake Vegas is pretty hilarious. The big advertisements are dead on. The best is when the entrance lane immediately turns into an exit lane so you have about five seconds to get up to the appropriate speed and find an opening to join the indifferent wall of highway traffic. An authentic LA experience, for sure.

Very useful if you can spare the key somewhere convenient, but even on the mouse or keyboard would work good probably. edit: I also wanted to point out to any Euros that hardly any Americans drive old rear end cars like Cuba or something. We're pretty high level consumers so we all drive trash that's less than 10 years old on average. Hopefully there's some kind of traffic mod for that soon because it's kinda immersion breaking in how frequent the old cars show up. And cops, there's not so many cops either. texasmed fucked around with this message at 23:18 on Feb 3, 2016 |

My layout is X down gear, A up gear, B engine brake, Y set cruise control, bumpers are the indicators, hold down left stick for horn, hold down right stick for cab view forward (resets view basically), up and down: cruise control up and down and left/right retarder although I've not driven anything that uses it yet, might switch it out to lights or something else. Back changes the info display on the dashboard and start changes the gps map views. texasmed posted:I also wanted to point out to any Euros that hardly any Americans drive old rear end cars like Cuba or something. Nah, old cars are pretty common, at least in California. Maybe not quite as old as a few of the ones in ATS, nor as common, but its not uncommon to see 60s-80s cars cruising around.

Sure it happened but this isn't the thread for it. I wasn't going to get this game because I already had ETS2 and loved it, but I decided to because this is a pretty game and I'm very glad I did. It looks great, I like the change of pace, and I'm super excited to see what modders and SCS come up with in the future. Seconding the spotify trucker playlist by Sips linked earlier, there's also a good one by some guy named Marcus that shows up as the second hit. Both are great and a tolerable replacement for ESKA Rock which just doesn't make sense here.

My controls! L-Stick: Steer R-Stick: Look around LB: Signal Left RB: Signal Right LT: Brake RT: Accelerate A: B: Cycle Dashboard Display Y: Cruise Control X: Lights D-Pad Up: Wipers D-Pad Down: Look Forward D-Pad Left: GPS D-Pad Right: Navigator Next Page L3: High Beams R3: Trailer Attatch Back: Map, I guess? Start: Enter, for entering shipping menus, paying tolls and the such I used the same config for ATS as I use in ETS2. Even the same graphics settings. A couple of gameplay settings changed of course between ETS2 and ATS, but a quick look at the menu fixed that.

The radio stations in this one all kind of suck, but then I realized that the Fallout: New Vegas radio stations work perfectly. At least for when you're out in the desert-- it doesn't quite work as well when you're driving up the sunny coast from LA to SF.

I really like the improvements in cities. They actually feel like real cities now instead of identical hubs with different skyboxes. The interstate design is weird, though. They should be limited access, but I'd swear I've run across multiple instances of cross-streets, traffic lights, turns onto other roads with no turn lane. They just don't feel right. I need more ramps, drat it!

My old ETS2 nvidia inspector settings seem to work great. If you're going to use them, you need to add the ATS executable to the ETS profile in nvidia inspector (or just create a new one and copy all the settings over) because there's no default profile for it yet. As always, disable MLAA and Scaling in-game. I'm going to see if I can get the Force Feedback mod working on ATS since I'd forgotten how worthless the default ffb is. Edit: it claims it is! http://forum.scssoft.com/viewtopic.php?f=109&t=49772 Edit 2: It is! If you have one of the supported wheels you absolutely should use this. ssb fucked around with this message at 01:01 on Feb 4, 2016 |

!!CONTINUOUS AWARDS!! also lol at the name Jackpot, had to look up the story behind that After Idaho outlawed all forms of casino gaming in 1954, "Cactus Pete" Piersanti and Don French moved their slot machine operations from Idaho to the Jackpot townsite. Piersanti's and French's gaming establishments were named Cactus Pete's and the Horseshu Club respectively. Piersanti in particular is credited for founding Jackpot.[11] In May 1958, the settlement was first recognized by the Elko County commissioners as an unincorporated town named Horse Shu, with a population of 65, despite a protest over the name by Cactus Pete's.[12] Because the club owners could not agree on a name, the county commissioners renamed it a month later as Unincorporated Town No. 1.[13] The clubs compromised on the name "Jackpot" in 1959.[14] Jackpot has been noted for its colorful place name.[15] does everything in Nevada revolve around gambling, aliens and nuclear explosions?

I can't figure out what the hell is causing my extreme FPS problems. When I'm not in a city I normally am at about 60fps no matter what settings I use but when I'm in a city I'm <20fps even with Low settings and 25% scaling at 1024x768 windowed mode. There's no difference no matter what settings I use VVV Tried that, didn't work VVV Cowman fucked around with this message at 01:52 on Feb 4, 2016 |
