Then a mission to retrieve the power source for the avenger. Finally, a normal hit mission to set up where your headquarters will be. There are a few unique cutscenes, including one where when the commander first steps onto the bridge the alarm goes off cause he's not authorized. But you get the achievement after gatecrasher anyway, so restart if you want ironman or to immediately get into the game. So are there any real benefits to tutorial like Xcom 1 did with free stuff?

There are tons of line of sight issues with buildings. I was spotted through a wall, and people were shooting straight up a wall, along with cover not stopping a flank. Be wary around buildings. Otherwise, game's great.

If anything you get slightly less, since you only get to promote one soldier after gatecrasher, mine was ranger. Then you have three rookies to bring to the power supply mission, where you first see sectiods and that. You're also made to make a medkit, so it depends if you care or not. Otherwise, everything seems as random as always.

Any idea how well this game runs yet? I'll be playing with a GPU very slightly under the minimum requirements and have been anxious as to how that might look

lmao, peak xcom already. 3/4 soldiers dead on first mission, last one survives a wildly improbable rush to defuse the power converter between two advent soldiers and the sectoid, then run away and slowly pick them off, with the sectoid finally burning to death from a grenaded truck Yeahhhh, Veteran will be just fine for me I think.

Anybody else have Overwatch just refuse to engage sometimes? I don't understand why 4 identical rookies wont all go into overwatch... One turn, two of them wont do it. Next turn, all four are fine. Turn after, only 3 will do it.

Alright here's my grunt for the GoonPool Didn't make up anything fancy because I have no need to be a special snowflake. I'm boots on the ground, meat for the grinder. Hair, beard and glasses are the closest approximation of mine that I could find, otherwise I claim no likeness. Also I picked Norway since they're who I feel the most kinship with. If it's like xcom EU/EW, you can't shoot the sniper rifle in any turn where you also move. Otherwise 'x' was the xcom 1 button that switched between your main weapon and your pistol.
