So I stumbled thru buying it on GMG and got it downloading. I go to close the GMG terms and conditions tab and it popped up with this thing to get 20% extra off. OOPS I guess i'll have to save it for next time. E: gently caress I accidentally closed the page for real and didn't copy the code. Oh fuckin well.

Steam is literally the worst. I preordered this through Steam but found out about the GMG voucher and wanted to cancel. 24 hours later they still haven't contacted me. This is my first time using the Steam refund feature, does it usually take this long for them to authorize a refund? I don't want to wake up tomorrow with them not having responded and have to decide to just buy the GMG one before work and before the voucher expires or not.

How long until you get psionics in this one? Minor story spoilers are okay. I want to recreate my badass psionic Assault from my first run in XCOM: EU, who was the only psionic soldier I got throughout the whole game and kicked a whole lot of rear end. Appropriately, her game-generated codename was Psycho.

That second mission is uh, kind of a doozy, jeez. I used some smart dashing to get to the bomb quickly. Accidentally misclicked one guy into the open, which broke conceal/got him killed, but figured I could still pull through. Knifed/grenaded the first captain, killed the basic troops, and had it down to just the last captain/bomb with 2 turns left. Figured I'd do the smart thing and knife the second captain, who was standing right next to the bomb, have the two rookies actually followup to kill him, and then have my Ranger disarm the bomb on the last turn. Well, that all actually worked fine, and happened just fine. Except for the fact as soon as she ran in to stab the guy, two sectoids and two more troopers suddenly spawned in, killed her, then killed my other rookies in short order. Leaving me with a mission failure on TUTORIAL MISSION 2.

Can confirm on running it on older Nvidia cards. Have a GTX 670 and its running just fine on high. So its some kind of problem with certain newer Nvidia cards I would imagine.

I have a 760 and most of the time it runs as you would expect, but it will sometimes drop FPS and hang for no loving reason, mostly during in-engine cutscenes. Including the ones where the last squad member moves. Hopefully they patch that poo poo or some turbonerd figures out what magical setting needs to be modified to fix it.

Still getting the error "ModLauncherWPF has stopped working." I can find one other person who had the same problem that was resolved because he was using Windows 7. So it doesn't help me much. Windows 8.1 Processor is an Intel Core 3.40GHz 12 gigs of RAM 64 bit OS. Nvidia GeForce GT640 Verified the cache, restarted everything. Still no luck.

Hey all, sorry if this has already been answered/discussed. (I'm trying to avoid spoilers) Is anybody here playing on a MacBook Air? If so, how does it run? I bought this game, and won't be able to install it for a few more days cos I'm currently overseas. I've tried googling around and the guys porting it to Mac posted some specs the other day, but apparently they're wrong as the cards they mentioned aren't in Macs. (I don't know how true this is, but that's what this reddit thread told me).

So wait. If you want to play Ironman, you have to skip the tutorial entirely? After they've gone well out of their way to make sure this game is 3 times more cinematic then the original XCOM, and packed the intro stuff chock full of story beats/very little actual tutorializing? That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard! Some of us want to play on both Ironman and see the story Firaxis. I mean thankfully I have a sturdy enough willpower that I'll always choose a restart but still.

I am able to play this on a laptop that is quite a bit below minimal specs, integrated gpu and everything. The fps is not very good and there's a bit of stuttering, but it is playable which makes me very happy

Protip you can stay connected to Steam in online mode if you disconnect the VPN after you launch the game and then just leave the game running until it's midnight EST because why would you stop playing just quit your job.

Anyone ran into an issue where after the game freezes, if you try to start the game again, you will only see a blackscreen at the main menu? It requires a computer restart to fix, and is quite annoying.

I bought mine off greenman and it had the game + base. I never saw a version that had the usual bullshit like shiny box or some little trinket. Although getting the cmdr's brain chip might have been kind of neat.

It's all in-game. The pool files are stored in your Documents folder under "\My Games\XCOM2\XComGame\CharacterPool\Importable". If you go into the game, you can export any character to a named pool, and a file called [poolname].bin will appear in that folder. You can then upload it or send it wherever. If you take a file from somewhere else and put it into that folder, you can use an import option inside the game to bring any or all characters in there into your list of accessible shootmans.
