Cool, thanks. Workshop integration working yet? This'd be great to upload.

I really hope they do something with the optimization. Game says I can run this on max on a 970, 4970K, and 16 gigs of ram yet I'm getting 30 and sub 30 FPS mostly which is insane since I can max every other new game to come out that are a lot more grapgic intensive

I wish silencers were a thing in this game. It would be really cool to be able to use some real guerrilla tactics like ambush that actually matter instead of giving one of your soldiers a bonus when they shoot.

They way I could see it working is that you regain concealment if you kill all the aliens in a pod the turn you activate them with silenced weapons only.

In EU you generally had to fight Sectoids OR Thin Men OR Mutons unless you messed up and activated several pods at once. Now every pod has at least a Advent Leader or a Sectoids accompanying what would normally just be two 3-health dudes. Even more so later, when you can get a leader, a muton, and a snake all in the same pod

So something I just learned, enemies don't get aim bonuses for being close to your dudes. Which might explain some of the sectoid/advent trooper behavior where they don't shoot even when they're up your rear end sometimes, their aim is abysmal enough to override that flank shot.

I had a pod of 1 viper and 2 sectoids on the landed UFO mission I did before work.

Luckily they were bunched up and I was in concealment flanking them so a grenade plus some overwatch killed them all before they could do anything. :v:

Among other things, Beagle poked around in the ini files and modded it so that his specialists could equip shotguns. I assume you could also do the same for any other class you wanted.

You may or may not have been experiencing any RNG malfunctions, but on the after action report Successful Shot Percentage is just "how many of the primary weapon attacks that you made on your turns actually hit" and has absolutely nothing to do with the aim percentages you made them with. So if you made ten shots during the fight at whatever accuracy and you hit six times it would display a Successful Shot Percentage of 60%. Note that this doesn't track overwatch shots or anything from your subweapon (such as a sharpshooter's pistol), which lead to a situation two days ago on Jamball's playthrough at the 3 hour mark where she ended a retaliation with a Successful Shot Percentage and Made Most Attacks of "--" because her strategy was basically to roll through the area with overwatch and her three grenadiers worth of explosives plus a gunslinger to pump pistol shots into anything left standing. So no one actually fired their primary weapon on their turn and thus no one counted as making attacks.

Speaking of Grenadiers, you accidentally put their video in the OP twice instead of putting in the Specialist's video.

How would you know? Dlls are wholly binary data. A bit out of place here or there can compromise functionally in weird ways. I've lost entire evenings of my life doing installs for work due to weird issues that were finally resolved by reloading dlls from known good sources. Heck, I've had to edit this binary data in a hex editor before to fix IPs that got knocked off in legacy systems and made it so they could no longer connect to dependencies. The reason identified in that case was that the new disk encryption system we were using hosed up.

Generating, reading, iterating, or interpreting RNG seeds could have been compromised if any of that functionality was in these dlls. It is a fair bit of surface. And sure, it doesn't prove anything, but the opposite is true - your good experiences don't prove that everything is working as intended and is supremely reliable. But 6 full missions of at least a dozen shots apiece showing this pattern is SUSPICIOUS AS ALL HELL and having corrupted game files while still having the game load and run somehow is even more suspicious.

Stop pretending like the game is above issues.

So I'm on an extraction mission.

My rookie is the last guy left to go. He is two squares away from the extraction zone. A viper poisons him and then an Advent trooper moves in on overwatch 3 squares away.

The rookie panics and runs in to the open, where the trooper blows his head off.

Mission accomplished.

I understand that - I actually went and confirmed that semantic before posting last night to see if there was any other reasonable explanation. This is the mission after the power reactor mission that I completely slammed up against (the power core mission I also failed twice, but those were more understandable tactical errors. I had bad hit ratings then too but I wrote it off as bad luck.) I have no real subweapons to work with here so the only damage going out is rookie assault rifles and grenades. Especially as the problems mounted, I obsessively set up flank shots, and close range flank shots at that, so my expected rating was, pessimistically, 70%. My actuals kept showing up between 30 and 38%.

The initial vest is one like in EU where it trades an item slot for more health. After that you will get predator armor, which is proper armor and researching it then buying it will put it onto the entire team. From there you can start making exo suits and the like for more diverging armor choices

Thank you for contacting 2K Customer Support and for your interest in XCOM 2.

I'm sorry that you're experiencing this crash issue and would be more than happy to assist. I understand that you are experiencing issues with your PC; I'm a long time PC gamer myself and a big fan and gamer of XCOM as well and I want to help you with this as best can and I can definitely understand how an issue with your game could be a cause for concern.

The first bits of troubleshooting I would suggest are the following:

Verifying the integrity of the Steam game cache

Load Steam
From the Library section, right-click on the game and select “Properties” from the menu
Select the “Local files” tab and click the “Verify integrity of game cache” button
Steam will match the local files to the cloud files, and fix any errors it encounters

Refresh your steam files

Completely exit the Steam client.
Open the run dialogue by pressing windows key + r (you can also navigate here from the start menu by typing run).
Type steam://flushconfig then press enter. (If asked to allow this website to open a program, please click Allow or OK).
Restart your computer.
Now, launch Steam directly from the installation folder, not from a pre-existing shortcut (~C:\program files (x86)\Steam).
The Steam application will either appear as Steam or Steam.exe depending on whether your settings show file extensions.

Uninstall and Reinstall the game completely

There is a possibility that some of the files which are installed during the setup process are incomplete or corrupted. Try uninstalling the game completely and reinstalling it under its default or express settings.

Reinstalling DirectX

In your Steam folder for the game you’re having trouble with, there will be typically be a DirectX setup package.
Example file path: C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\XCOM 2\ _CommonRedist\DirectX\Jun2010
Find and run DXSETUP.exe
Reboot the computer (mandatory)

Reinstalling Vcredist

Navigate to your game’s steam folder – there will be two Vcredist folders.
C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\XCOM 2 \ _CommonRedist\vcredist\2012
C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\XCOM 2 \ _CommonRedist\vcredist\2013
Find and Run vcredist_x86.exe in both folders
Find and Run vcredist_x64.exe in both folders
Should the files already be installed, you will be prompted to either ‘uninstall’ or ‘repair’. Choose ‘repair’.
Reboot the computer (mandatory)

Reinstalling Microsoft .NET

Navigate to your game’s steam folder – there will be a DotNet folder.
C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\XCOM 2 \ _CommonRedist\DotNet\4.5.1
Find and Run NDP451-KB2872776-x86-x64-AllOS-ENU.exe
Should the file already be installed, you will be prompted to either ‘uninstall’ or ‘repair’. Choose ‘repair’.
Reboot the computer (mandatory)

If that doesn't resolve the issue, I would like to gather some more information about your computer.

For this information we will need to see your DXDiag and MSinfo files.

To get these files:
1) Close all open applications
2) Press the Windows key +'R' on your keyboard > Type dxdiag > Click OK > Click Save all information
3) Press the Windows key +'R' on your keyboard > Type msinfo32 > Click OK > Select File and then EXPORT and save the file as a text file(*.txt)
4) A screenshot/video of any error messages that you might be getting.

To take a screenshot:
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-vista/use-snipping-tool-to-capture-screen-shots
Log in to your support ticket and then select the "attach file" option under the comments box to attach the files to your case. Alternatively respond to this email with the files attached.
Once we receive this information, we will research your issue and update your ticket.
Should you have any additional questions or concerns related to our 2K titles, please do not hesitate to contact us again!

Thank you,
Kind regards,
Jalal N.
2K Support

If anyone else has any advice I would really appreciate it. I've already reverified the cache so will just wait to download now.
