every fandom that gets large enough has a bunch of weirdbeards doing this  ingly insane AU stuff. It gets really bizarre because some of them stray so incredibly far from the source material it might as well not be related at all. I remember seeing a ton of this poo poo when I still read Homestuck.Are there any other fandoms that do this? I would think Avengers/Supernatural/Sherlock/Harry Potter might, but I haven't really been exposed to any of that. fandoms are dumbbbbb edit:

The most incredible example was the Lorax fandom. They all wanted to gently caress Onceler the gawky teen villian, but there was so little to work with so it turned into an incestuous tangle of alternate universe version teen dweebs all rping sex with each other.

Supernatural and Harrypotter fans definitely do the insane bullshit. There's an entire thing on the internet revolving around people fantasizing about super natural characters with dog dicks loving eachother pregnant up the rear end. It has nothing to do with the show at that point.

Instead of admitting they want Sasuke to top Naruto because they identify with Naruto and want to get boned by Sasuke, they will write an essay on how it would be OOC for Sasuke to bottom.

I just have a problem with sexualizing kids cartoons that do not have any romantic tones, or anything to deal with relationships. Lookin at you Zim fans. The only time Love is ever brought up in that show, is to be ironic and cynical. Stop ruining a show I love with your weird smut.

I'm not too worried about teens writing smutty fanfic, even really weird stuff, as long as it eventually runs its course and they don't end up being someone like JohnofE or Chris-chan well into adulthood. I do think that the lengths people go to in order to pretend wish fulfillment is high art can be funny, but that's hardly a great sin.
