So I found out enemy grenades you set off with Fuse can miss the enemy they're attached to.

I'm still trying to figure out how that exactly works.

At one point I selected the +20 hack skill option on a mission hack device. The UI appeared to show the bar fill past the line, but my soldier never got the hack bonus and it didn't say I earned it after, just the guaranteed mission data. I was kind of mad since that was the only +20 hack I'd seen yet.

Yes. You can send the workshop gremlins to the rooms above, below and to the sides of the workshop. Not diagonally, though.

How exactly does the character pool work? Just about every time someone I've created shows up, there's 1 or 2 things changed from how I actually created them.

Also, it seems you can get multiple instances of the same character. Had one guy in my initial starting barracks, but he was also available to recruit. Kinda annoying.

I had a big fat temper tantrum about the 360 controller not being compatible, and had to settle for the steam one. It's all right.

There's no waypoints, which sucks, but I'm sure someone will mod that into the configuration eventually. The most annoying things are that sometimes, maybe 5% of the time, the precision goes wonky so you hit the wrong grid square for movement or (weirdly) when you fire/lob grenades, you don't get a chance to aim them and they just go wherever. So maybe wait for a patch before Iron Manning it.

Anyway, I like it fine.

Edit: Also, I am not skilled with software in any way, shape, or form, but the basic configuration that comes with the game doesn't seem to be modded easily? Like I tried switching a few things around, and it just made my controller go insane, pushing the cursor to every limit of the screen. But, people are changing the default configuration, so it's clearly possible.

Is there going to be a way for a given class to get all its abilities every level? I want super soldiers against max difficulty jerks. So, grab every skill on the skill tree as you level up.

I got my power coils in the center of my Avenger. Decisions.... I guess I'll have to build more workshops instead and way far away from the corner that I started my GTS in. Is there a power bonus at least if you staff a gremlin at a Power Relay?

The bonus is you don't have to staff an engineer there.

You can, it's in the default weapon data ini.

I'm playing around with it scaling up armour piercing right now, but I think it still needs a damage buff.

I actually mentioned this to Coolguye: we should have a class that is dual pistols.

you have to PICK ONE of the options. Hacking doesn't give you all 3 things. It gives you one thing. The left side is the 'bad stuff', the middle and right are 'pick the best one of these two and roll the die'.

Is (mission name) ADVENT Network Tower the final mission? I want to drag out the time a bit to get full plasma weapon arsenal and maybe some more tier 2 special armors manufactured before i end the game.

I finally got concealed overwatches to both fire and actually hit and it's a very good and smug feeling.

Also I finally got some of my custom weapons back. I have the cannons "Answer" and "Retaliator" (:haw:) and Invective, Red Death, and I forget the other.

Customization is good.

I have a question.

I got a specialist. I gave him a medkit, and medical protocol. Gremlin now has 2 heal charges.

I then took field medic expecting the # of charges to increase. Gremlin STILL only has 2 heal charges. Except at the same time I cannot seem to use my actual medkit when next to a person, so it seems like field medic + Medical protocol is bad/broken and should not ever be used, is this correct or has anyone else encountered this or what

Those are not glitches, they are just flickers of the real Xcom trying to break you out of the simulation. Xcom 3 will start with Bradford breaking you out of a underwater base and taking you back to the sub they they have refitted.

I am almost completely certain you get a confirmation if you are going to hit a buddy (or, uh, blow the floor out from one).

And yeah, Surprise Snakes when your dudes are clustered are pretty Fun.

So I noticed the XCOM wiki is claiming that PCS Will boosts increase the damage on certain Psi Amp abilities. Can anyone who's rooted through the files substantiate this?

I didn't hit my buddy, I hit nothing, which is just as bad.

I got my two poisoned dudes out but christ I'm bringing at least three medkits from now on. Eternal (or close enough) poison is brutal.

Well, second to last mission, but the last mission comes immediately after that one and there is no room for research or building.

Also of some value on that mission: stock up on Intel.

I lost my first soldier to poison because I forgot that a. it hung around in a cloud since it had a much subtler graphic effect this time around and b. it restricted move distance, so I used the last medkit I had to patch up the poisoned solider, immediately had her move out of the cloud to get poisoned again, and then the timer ran out 2 tiles from the evac zone. :rip:

Exactly what I did! The evac function is great. My gremlinman, grenadier, and sniper remained. The sniper pulled the last pack from outside vision range (?) with his handcannon (??) and hit and nailed a guy, the other overwatches hit, the stun lancer missed. :clint:

Pistols are loving amazing.
