Although I have to say, I don't think the Pro Tour gauntlet is actually a good idea. It's like 20% playing Magic and 80% waiting around around; I have:

Died Turn 3 four times (Death's Shadow turn 3 twice, opponent had it the other time, but I lived due to having Turn 3 Emrakul, also Faithless Looting, Goryo's Vengeance, Emrakul )
Died Turn 2 twice (SSG, Faithless Looting, Goryo's Vengeance)

This is not going to make people think the format is fun. Particularly given that at least some of these decks are ruthlessly spiky and not necessary fun, like Burn.

Cranial Archive is an awful card, but it's proactive in a way that Hallowed Moonlight is not. If you're holding up Hallowed Moonlight you're basically just waiting for your opponent to find a Duress/Dispel so they can kill you. Cranial Archive at least sets them back (ie you can remove their graveyard when they're tapped out) and can't really be prevented in the same way.

Reflector Mage chat: it is a mildly annoying card made legit annoying by virtue of the fact that its played primarily in a Magical Christmasland combo deck that exists because some idiot at WOTC was too drunk/high to figure out that typed duals that get better as you play the game were loving stupid with fetchlands.

On separate occasions we have heard that 4 color decks were not tested by FFL and neither was Reflector Mage in constructed.

Do people really not like Rally? I think it's great that in a format of 4-colour good stuff decks, the best deck is a wacky combo deck full of bulk rares and draft leavings, and that the card that pushed it over the edge was designed to be a slightly better tempo play in limited. Plus it's a blast to play.

It would be one thing if it was just Abzan, but 4 color Jace + Reflector Mage pushes it over the edge into being vaguely unreasonable, particularly given how many lines of play the opponent has to figure out. The big problem for me is that there aren't enough ways to disrupt its gameplan beyond "play white and play horrible answer Hallowed Moonlight" because a lot of the poo poo it does gives you super extra value like Collected Company does.

Pact of Negation (or any pact really) question, if the pact is countered, is the pay on upkeep or lose portion still active? If it is still active, what's the part of the rules that actually defines that it works that way?

pfire is just really nice for the games that go long or if they somehow have a way to ignore/sidestep your creatures. The manabase also gets easier and you are less susceptible to wasteland.

It's the same reason why it seems like so many pro players are "control specialists." Because the inherent advantage pros have is typically skill, but you don't use any of it where you lucksack into Emrakul swinging for 15 on Turn 2 involves nothing but luck. It's not like the Moley-guy that won necessarily made a bunch of really special plays, he just played the deck his team was all playing and got there (and all of them had a super high win percentage because they had a better metagame deck).

If the pacts fail to resolve, you don't have to pay the costs.

Oh, I see, I was confused because Hive Mind just copies, you don't actually cast the spell. I was trying to figure out why casting a Pact with Hive Mind and Chalice of the Void on 0 was lethal for the opponent when it was just going to be countered.

Playing green and not being able to ancient stirrings seems really wrong, and not having more ways to hit T1 chalice seems wrong. Urborg seems underwhelming, maybe replace it with 2-3 Mox Diamond, nuke the talismans and replace them with Ancient Stirrings?

That's 10 R/G sources instead of 12 but you get to play way better cards? Might need to tweak the colors a bit more.

I would also consider warping wail or the +3/-3 card as nothing in legacy outside of goyf has 4 toughness and the 4 life off dismember is going to suck

Chalice only triggers when a spell is cast, the copy from hive mind is put on the stack when the original is cast, so your opponent gets a copy that doesn't get hit by chalice.

Sometimes gets used in chord decks. This time it was in an angel/feeder deck as a 4-of that went 9-1 in the constructed portion of the PT.
