Man I just read an article that mentioned Hillary Clinton and Super Tuesday. I know HILLARY WINS BIG ON SUPER TUESDAY was an oft quoted line back in the bygone days of LF. I don't remember who drew the comic, or even what point it was trying to make. Anybody have it saved that can post it?

He gives enough of a drat to bother drawing a new duck-cupid, but not to maintain character consistency by drawing the head feathers.

When I saw the TIMG I thought it was another T-shirt advert. Ford should put that screed on a T-shirt, though. At least then he'd be selling his own work for $16.

cram me sideways posted:Uhhhhh like ninety percent of this thread is people picking out the tiniest details in a Branco or Ramirez cartoon and being all PFFFFFFT THAT'S NOT HOW THAT ACTUALLY IS IN REAL LIFE; loving HACK AM I RIGHT FELLAS? And it's irritating as poo poo. There was one cartoon where a cartoonist drew something-or-other to look like a brain and some goon replied that the brain wouldn't survive because it didn't have a stem. CARTOONS DON'T DEPICT REALITY ACCURATELY, GOONS. I mean, zakharov is normally as irritating as poo poo because all he does is whinge (unlike the discerning critic who is me), but in this case he's 100% correct.

The lack of head feathers was how I knew it was new, so I guess he cares enough to update his old gag with new art every year, but not enough to keep putting the feathers in or explain why they disappeared. I know subtle changes in how a character is draw over time is normal in cartooning which makes it a petty thing to grouse about. But there's just something about the contrast of the extreme laziness in recycling this gag every year for weeks on end and the attention to detail in drawing a new picture every time that's weirdly infuriating.

When you spend two full time jobs' worth of time each week doing research, sometimes you need shortcuts to get you through the day.

My guess is he just forgot to draw the feathers one day, and since no one he cares about noticed, he said fuckit, that's 2 seconds less work to do.
