And when I diverted my attention from the lecture to tabbing through notes/reading/browser (because if Im not paying attention, obviously everyone else will know that I raised my hand in error)... There are a bunch of pop-ups including a pornhub survey and one of those cam-girl advertisements. I'm sitting near the front. Jesus christ.

I've been rolling either ABP or uBlock Origin for years and I can't remember the last time I got any sort of popup. Blocking YouTube ads alone is such a gigantic improvement to ordinary browsing that I can't imagine why anyone doesn't take the ~15 seconds they're waiting out an ad to install uBlock.
