Does their running mate step in? Is there any official process for what's supposed to happen? The next runner up in the primary becomes the nominee, loses the general, and the general election winner goes on to resign in disgrace. Overall, not a good scenario.

Someone who whips out a scapegoat like that isn't going to change their mind so easily. They already know they're wrong (if they have half a brain), they just need it to be true to justify their worldview. If it doesn't satisfy that need then it can't be true.

Massasoit posted:A family member told me: http://www.nytimes.com/2009/06/07/us/07baltimore.html?_r=0 New York Times posted:Wells Fargo, Ms. Jacobson said in an interview, saw the black community as fertile ground for subprime mortgages, as working-class blacks were hungry to be a part of the nations home-owning mania. Loan officers, she said, pushed customers who could have qualified for prime loans into subprime mortgages. Another loan officer stated in an affidavit filed last week that employees had referred to blacks as mud people and to subprime lending as ghetto loans. So, banks did in fact give unaffordable mortgages to minority borrowers - but the mortgages were often unaffordable because they were pushing high-interest subprime loans onto borrowers who qualified for and could have afforded lower-interest loans, and they did it with gusto because it was profitable as poo poo. (spoiler: they're going to come up with reasons why the lie-beral New York Times is lying and their racist fairytale is true. Expect to hear completely unsupported tales of what "must have" happened)

I know this is forever ago, but I just want to point out that Michael Shermer has a very bad history of things he does to women at Atheist conventions. I don't know if he's been convicted but I feel safe to say he's committed sexual assault, more than once. Really almost all the Atheist movement is really bad. I wouldn't be shocked to see Dick Dorkins and Sam Harris come out for Trump as they loathe Muslims as much as he does. I am very ashamed that these guys were a huge influence on me growing up because of how toxic they are in regards to Muslims and women.
