I tried so much to love the new Divinity (especially since I backed the Kickstarter), but ended up hating it. The inventory system is beyond awful, but worse are the random difficulty spikes. I was literally digging a hole in the first city looking for a grave, and some kinda Level 9999 monster popped out and wiped my party in 2 seconds. Another time I was pushed back a few steps by a monster and my party ended up stepping on a bit of lava. Killing them all instantly. I found it slow and frustrating. The Trophies are terribly designed too.

Did it get that balance patch for the other versions a few months ago that made it less of a horrendous grind fest? It still runs pretty bad... I'd recommend against it unless you've played BL2 before and just want a portable version. In my case I've beaten it on PC and PS3 and it's fun to play around in on the go every so often.

I'd still just get The Handsome Collection but for $4 Borderlands 2 isn't that bad.

It's "serviceable" in terms of performance. The problem is that a lot of other parts of the game are still broken.

I only had it so I could play my save file with PS4 as they are cross play. barren_sky posted:I tried so much to love the new Divinity (especially since I backed the Kickstarter), but ended up hating it. The Trophies are terribly designed too. The random difficulty poo poo is annoying. There's like 4 gates out of town and only 1 is where you can go as a new character, first fight I get into I'm barely breaking by the skin of my teeth. Go down the road a bit and the dudes 2 shot my entire party. It's a game of patience and SAVE OFTEN because you never know what can happen when you accidentally steal something and the entire inn turns on you and wipes your party. Once you get past that, it's not that bad. There are scaled difficulty levels. Similar to easy, normal, hard, master. Normal is the base game, easy makes combat less brutal which might be for someone if you're frustrated with the combat, the hard/master is more for just brutalizing the difficulty of the game. I guess it's just me being a newb, but I also read some stuff saying the game was "too easy" and I don't know what RPG planet they come from, but this is a pretty challenging game.

Man, I don't know why I wanna buy divinity. I don't really love tactical rpg's but every once in awhile I just want to try to get into one. It has great reviews and I just always think I'll get to play another chrono game or something.

That's weird, they've done a couple of similar promotions here in the UK but there was nothing about new accounts and worked fine for my old one.

It's a game of patience and SAVE OFTEN because you never know what can happen when you accidentally steal something and the entire inn turns on you and wipes your party. There are guards who warn you about the "wrong" gates out of the starting town, telling you they're probably too tough. The exploding zombie in the graveyard was a gag and a pretty funny one, but I was annoyed about losing progress to it. People saying the game was easy were probably talking about the mid/late game, which wasn't tuned nearly as well as the (challenging) start because your characters get so powerful. Not sure if the enhanced edition changes that.

I ended up killing the zombie in the graveyard at the cost of my cleric. But I just stack up on resurrection scrolls and it's not really an issue when someone dies. If I was to go back, I'd change up the starting skills on my cleric. I really don't like any of them but the heal, so I'd want something with more omph to deal some damage at a lower AP cost.

I love Divinity and while there are some problems with it (obtuse quests, weird difficulty) it's probably my favorite RPG on PS4. I want the sequel already. Or just an expansion module, anything really.

I want to replay it with a friend who's seasoned at RPGs. My wife just takes FOREVER on her turns as she's not all 20 years of RPG experience like me so she doesn't understand that what all the stats mean or mechanics are.

Anyone play Bomberman Ultra? From what I can tell it's literally the same game as the XBLA Bomberman, but with support for 7-players locally. For $2.50 that might be enough for me to bite, but wondering if there's anything else I should know.

Hopkins FBI posted:How bad is NFL Blitz? Not as violent as the old ones, obviously, but I had fun with it when I bought it back when it launched. At the price it is right now, I would say it's worth grabbing. I ended up getting Capcom Fighting Allstars and Starwhal from this sale. I know both of them aren't supposed to be great, but for less than 5 for the both of them, I'm willing to try them out. If nothing else, the two provide a boost to my collection of Capcom fighting games and odd multiplayer games, respectively.

In retrospect, it wasn't a smart move of me to buy SFV on disc four days before street date given that it a) is based around a live server architecture b) is one of those games you play constantly next to other games c) will in all likelihood change completely before very long through updates.
