You can put everyone into the same combat group and if you're using command tokens, potentially turn a Mutts irregular into a regular order. Also a base sekban with a shotgun is not going to get a lot done with his 4-2 move and limited weaponry. I'd either completely drop him for more naffatun, or try to fit in the HRL sekban. I also think its better to take a 4th mutt with chain rifle than one with a boarding shotgun. Mutts are cheap and disposable and having a template auto hit those really hard to hit models(like an ODD specialist in cover) is really nice. Between their impetuous and irregular orders, they can cover quite a bit of ground and can threaten anything within 10"(Large template). Dogged also helps them maintain their effectiveness during your reactive turn. Nothing is worse than having to dump multiple orders on your active turn to take out some 5 point mutt because you don't wanna risk him chain rifling your link.

I'd move the 4 mutts over to G1, and the Shihab to G2. If you get a Mutt in a good position, you want more orders to spend on it. Plus, when one inevitability dies, you can shunt the Shihab across with a command token.

No-one cares about WYSIWYG in infinity, there's kind of a vague rule that you should use the appropriate model/weapon but it's bent or broken most of the time. Like everyone knows that warband boxes come with a combi rifle and/or shotgun which very few people will want to use. Any opponent will be fine with you saying 'they're all chain rifles'. Just try and avoid the situation where every single unit you own is counting as something else!

(how WYSIWYG is infinity?)
CB says match all units/weapon options where possible and no non-CB proxies, usually events are more lenient and either allow a few proxies or do away with weapon matching.

In casual play it's even more relaxed, generally I can imagine 3 situations in which it might be a problem:
- unrecognizable mess of proxies (this Hac Tao is a Hsien, while the Hsien is a Daofei, the Kuang Shi are Shaolin Monks and that drone is a TAG...)
- you field the same proxied list for months and don't get the right models despite having the time/money to do so
- you're an rear end in a top hat :v:

Generally though, the golden rule is "your proxy, your duty to make the opponent know what it is, apart from that, do whatever". Want to test out how a new faction plays and proxy all Tohaa with your PanO? Sure, just warn me behorehand. You're new to Infinity and want to test out the rules with your 40k imperials before you buy in? Go ahead.

MA3 also makes them pretty decent at tying things up if not outright beating them down in CC.

My buddy uses shaolins in all his lists. They're unbelievably useful for getting smoke out and covering area. They're a perfect counter part to the Rui Shi+Marksmanship for taking out tough sniper/HMG nests. I think they should be an auto include in most Yu Jing lists.

So I'm listening to an episode of maya cast and trying to keep up, its about fireteams and I'm wondering if I'm making things harder for myself not having any fireteams? Everyone I've played has fielded one, two in my last game against combined. Should I start trying sectorials if everyone in London is running them?

I play a Sectorial, because I like a focussed theme and look, not because it's more powerful. I would say it's a fairly even trade off. Non-sectorial factions get access to a far wider variety. This has two benefits, they can be a lot more surprising and unpredictable to your opponent (this shows up more if you don't play repeatedly against the same people, who probably know what models you own) and they can pick 'best in class' across a faction.

Example: I play Corregidor, which is considered a very well-round sectorial, probably not due to have any units put in or any major overhauls - it's in a good place. Compared to Vanilla Nomads, I can make link teams from Alguaciles (line Infantry), Jaguars (warbands) Wildcats (slightly elite medium infantry) and Mobile Brigada (Heavy Infantry). I do usually include a link team, it's a good bonus to have. There is a strong case for always including at least the most basic line infantry link your sectorial has access to - it gives cheap orders, which everyone needs, and makes them into a powerful board-control and mission-achieving force rather than cheerleaders hiding in the back.

Against that, I lose access to the really cheap impetuous warbands, the best hackers in faction, the TO Camo and ODD troops, the superior infiltration character, the heavier TAGs, and I only get 2 infiltrating units, which are great but one is irregular and the other is Mimetism not full camo . . . you get the idea.

If I were to play a Nomads list, I wouldn't really end up taking the same models and thinking 'poo poo, I can say I'm Corregidor and link up' - I would be able to pick the really good and efficient hackers, infiltrators, and tricksy units that are very good, while keeping access to all my current units.

Preorders for "Infinity (#568) Yu Jing: Su-Jian Immediate Action Unit " just hit my distributor, showing February as a release date. O.O

EDIT: Do these Mercenary troops (explicitly hireable by any non-Sectorial army) act as a balancing factor for Human Sphere 3 Adding additional benefits to picking a Sectorial army over a generic? It seems pretty likely to me. An extra command token seems like an obvious choice, but there may also be some significant linkteam revisions as well.

They imply that the ITS season's changing so Le Muet will no longer be available as a LE mini (so they're releasing a plain one to have less people pissed off) and they have to do a new LE mini for the next one.

If that's the models you have, that's what you got !
I'm not experienced, but maybe make someone else the Lt- the flamethrower means you're going to want to get up close and personal- and so get exposed more.
If you've got a small model, and are able to proxy, squeeze in a NazMat remote for the Medic (at 3pts, it'll fit)

yeah i guess without knowing the models i have its a bit pointless, i have a few more, some starter boxes and other model boxes but its a good point about the lt and never thought of the little remote, i got a tin bot i could probably use, i assume it extends the range of my medic?

If you're into the setting then that's where you'll get the lore. Also, while the rules are available for free in full if you're the type who likes a hardcopy then it's worth it.

You activate the Medic with an order as normal, and the Bot can make the same actions (move-move, move-heal etc) so you can have it located away from the medic, and have the ability to heal in two places at once:

wow ghost servant is a cool skill though, so reading it i can just keep my doctor hidden or at the other side of my force and just run the remote over and heal people. No, the provided base is the same (although I like to put mine on 17mm hex bases to make it clear that they're markers and not physical gameplay pieces), I just thought you were asking about the actual Tinbot and not a proxy. And yes, you can move the doctor on the spot and run the drone to the patient.
