I am curious though, if Nintendo were to just sit one out and make a game for Sony, just for Sony, how much control over that game's development would Sony have?

Read through Bloodborne's development process. Sony pretty much left them alone to do their own thing and they churned out an amazing game.

The tools of a hero mean nothing without a solid core.

Is there a good guide out there for Bayonetta 2 weapons (text preferred, youtube videos tend to be full of padding and difficult to find the info I want) that goes beyond the in-game descriptions? The swords were very straightforward, but I'm having trouble figuring out the niche for the bow and flame/icethrowers, and I figure I'll keep having this issue as new weapons come along. They just don't seem to have any punch.

Nintendo Account is what they'll be using going forward; your NNID will sync to it but you won't be using NNID on NX and beyond, I imagine.

Nintendo Account also syncs with My Nintendo, the Club Nintendo-style rewards program that'll launch alongside Miitomo next month, so if you want to be able to claim rewards you'll need a Nintendo Account.

Yes, it's dumb and weird that there are three separate things but setting up a Nintendo Account takes like 30 seconds if you have a NNID and then you'll never have to think about it again.

I wonder if it'll have a way of pulling information you already have. It'd be nice if my purchase history from the days of ye olde Club Nintendo was still intact.

Miimoto registration doesn't actually go live until next month, I take it?

I've been playing Hyrule Warriors. It is: surprisingly challenging. The last Warriors game I played was the first Fist of the North Star one for the xbox 360, and it was really not difficult. Once you figured out the timing for parrying projectiles, the game was very easy, except for like the final boss. It also didn't go very hard on Dynasty Warriors game mechanics; I don't recall ever having to worry about enemies recapturing bases, for example.

Hyrule Warriors is way different. It lulls you in during the first battle, which is pretty straightforward and easy. By the fourth battle, I got to where I had to start the level over because I left myself with an unwinnable checkpoint. Enemy forces were capturing my base while I tried to fight a boss monster. I had to go back and actually plan ahead by wiping out all the peripheral enemy outposts and stuff before I triggered the boss encounter. My girlfriend is a little further in than me, and was playing a scenario where she had to run like hell from a powered-up enemy commander to reach an objective that would weaken him. They squeeze a lot of unexpected surprises and variety out of the gameplay model. The game challenges you in ways that are pretty intense on a blind playthrough.

They just tend to be esoteric, coming from an insular company that generally trains their existing staff up instead of going out into the proverbial street to grab experts.

Are you taking the time to murder the poo poo out of guard posts? Usually if anything's about to capture one of your bases just drop everything and go save it. HW plays differently then most Warriors games in a lot of ways but mission structure is the same.

So are they just going to go with "Login using NNID/Your Favourite Social Media Account"? There doesn't seem to be a separate login for MyNintendo (although I guess there is if you created one without linking an existing account).

You can sign in with the email and password associated with your NNID if you logged in with that. Don't know how the default sign in works for the social network logins, but I think part of the permission is asking for your email address, so presumably it just works with that.

MyNintendo requires login via email. Everything else is just migrated from your NNID

It's not really a requirement, since you can just log in again through whatever accounts are linked to it. For example, I created my account with my NNID, then linked it to my Twitter. When I log out, I can log in using my email and password, or I can click the NNID or Twitter buttons and those log me in the same way. It seems to work pretty well.

Aha, I just tried to sign out and it warned me that my email address wasn't verified. Well, it was, but I hadn't set a password for it. That was the piece which I was missing. A suggestion above said that future Nintendo hardware would do away with NNID and just use your Nintendo Account, I was wondering how that would be possible if I didn't have an explicit login for my Nintendo Account.

I guessed that was only for use during your first login/migration, but it obviously isn't. Weird

Yeah, I figured that out after I failed the mission :v:
I know the mission structure is the same as other Warriors games, but I'm saying that it's way more challenging compared to how Fist of the North Star was. Hokuto Musou felt like it had a lot of the Warriors battlefield mechanics dumbed down to make it more of a beat-em-up. I went intoHyrule Warriors expecting it to be something along those lines, but actually it's a pretty cool take on more complete Dynasty Warriors mechanics, with nods to Zelda mechanics like dungeon items.

Are the other contemporary Warriors fanservice games at this level of quality? I might check out the Dragon Quest one on PC, if that's the case.
