If the UI guy still reads this thread please, please put Crafting Material missions at the top with Rich missions. Also I need to be careful with the ability to shift-click buy 9999 at a time...I already had 20k Medpacs didn't really need 10k more. Edit: or maybe a toggle to not show anything below Bountiful.

When does Sith Warrior (The branch that has the tank spec) get interesting? I have been playing a bounty hunter so far and have finished the vanilla game now. I can't get comfortable with how my bounty hunter with its 2 piddly blasters going prrrt prrrrt can so easily take down Jedis and such. I can't really get comfortable with playing a star wars game and not wielding a lightsaber either. Both of these things feels "wrong" so i decided to try out a sith warrior. Being a player that enjoys support classes i picked the tank spec (juggernaught?) Problem is it is just so...boring. I have never played such an unengaging melee class in any MMO, and melee is my preferred playstyle. All the attacks feels so slow and cumbersome. There is no flow in combat, no chained attacks, no combos. Having to use the "auto attack" so often just to generate a piddly amount of resource so i can use slightly less boring skills doesn't breed much interest in continuing this class. I am level 20 now, does this class ever get interesting? (Do they get away with it being boring because its a MMO and you get to play a light saber user?)

Hmm, I think even the tank Sith warrior is an engine of destruction who can ping-pong around groups mauling everything. Because you say you have to use the regular attack to build rage a lot your experience is quite different from mine, I jump in and immediately open with aegis assault (the active tank skill you get at low level) which boosts your defense and gives you a ton of rage, and then use it on cooldown and I have to throw a basic attack maybe once a combat if that to have enough rage to fight with. You also have enrage on a relatively short timer for out-of-rage situations. For a typical group of mooks I jump in, aegis assault, and then do crushing blow (which now hits and knocks down all of them due to the aegis assault buff) and then do an AE or maybe two and everything is dead. Against targets with lots of health it does take awhile to whittle them down, so I just turn my companion to DPS and burn tank cooldowns while we fight it and watch its health disintegrate. Don't forget to riposte every chance you get, and the best-looking thing the SW can do is force choke someone and then immediately ravage them. Hey how about you hang in the air strangling while I just whale the poo poo out of you? Also if you set your companion to heal you are functionally immortal and can kill an almost unlimited number of things at one time.

Sith Juggernaut is the slow, heavy-hitting, calculated class. If you want the ADHD slapping one, you want Maradurr. Try leveling with Vengeance or whatever the last one is. Ranged companion in DPS for most fights, heal if you struggle with a fight. I love my Jugg, the heavy hits feels very satisfying to me.

I have a rage-specced Jugg, it's awesome for DPS. But as Dunno-Lars mentioned, it's heavy-hitting rather than Tasmanian Devil like a Marauder would be. Think Vader instead of Darth Maul, I guess.

Juggernaut also kills people by screaming at them. I love my Sniper and my Marauder, but I feel way more powerful with my Rage Juggernaut. She gets the biggest crits it seems and a fully charged Smash can still wipe out a group of weak mobs. Guardian, on the other hand, feels like you describe. Instead of screaming, you wave your sword at the enemy. Brutal backhand in tank stance? Nope, you hilt bash them. Ravage? Nope, now you're a ballerina who does a Blade Dance.

Thanks for the input! I am playing Immortal juggernaught btw, if that makes a difference regarding slow gameplay. (I thought Juggernaught was the spec but apparently that is the whole subclass) How is the sith sorcerer tank (Darkness assassin?) compared to the Immortal? Is it more of a "spell caster tank" than a "physical dps tank" ? Do they both get heavy armor? (Does immortal get heavy armor? Mine is in full medium but i haven't gotten any armor quest rewards yet)

Sorcs do not wear heavy armor, Warriors do. I don't think tanks do DPS as much as they absorb it (although in this game, everything does some kind of damage).

I found Kinetic Combat (Darkness) Shadow (Assassin) difficult to play properly because you need to keep track of your selfbuffs and enemy debuffs and both are really, really annoying in a game that does not support addons. Yes, the UI can be somewhat customized but that was not enough for me to feel comfortable. Guardian (Immortal) has a lot of selfbuffs too but there is no need at all to track them, just fire away whatever is not on CD/lights up (yes, there is a proper rotation but forget about it, just follow a simple priority system)

It's definitely the tank I've had the most difficulty with (I apparently have not heard of this "Wither" thing before (although my dualsaber tank is actually a Jedi, so it's going to have a different name)), but the big plus is that you get stealth, which makes so many things easier in sololand. prefect fucked around with this message at 15:27 on Feb 18, 2016 |

Defensive cooldowns, however, should not be used as soon as they're off cool down. You should learn which cool down is needed for which situation. Juggernaut actually has the most defensive cool downs to learn, but they're fairly basic. Assassin has a few, and Powertech has essentially the most basic of them.

Patch made the craftable relics BoE instead of BoP so I can make 220 relics that are a bit cheaper in materials than the raid level 220 ones which are just slightly better. I believe the 220 relics take 3 Strategic Resource Matrixes instead of 3 Dark Matter Catalysts like the raid versions.

Is it just me or does it feel like people are spending less on the GTN? There's a general price drop for most items, unless they're super rare, and sales take longer than they used to. I used to be able to buy a hypercrate off the GTN, unbind the contents, and move the items in a few days at a good price. Now it takes a few weeks and I get less overall. Crafting for profit is even worse if you don't have Ops schematics. People are still selling crafted items for less than the material costs.

I don't think volume is less, I think there's an excessive amount of supply because 99% of people only wanted 1 or 2 items from the hypercrates AND there's now a glut of old stuff up there for people who have lots of money and were waiting to find a deal on old stuff. Nothing from my hypercrate is selling for what i'd like to sell it for so I'm banking it and waiting for a while until the supply is down. I made around 10mil off the one I bought and I only sold about 1/3 of it. (oddly, the best sellers were emotes and a couple old mounts).

Inflation from the item stack exploit might finally be settling down too. There were people who made hundreds of millions off that who bought whatever they wanted for whatever price because they had literally infinite supplies of cash.

Ineptitude posted:I am playing Immortal juggernaught btw, if that makes a difference regarding slow gameplay. (I thought Juggernaught was the spec but apparently that is the whole subclass) I like levelling with tank specs, especially now that companions are so hilariously overpowered. Once I start getting enough defensive cooldowns, my "strategy" shifts towards "Pull a train of 4-6 elites & strongs then kill them faster than they can kill me". BUT: Major caveat -- I've already completed the game and unlocked (nearly) all the Datacrons, so all my characters are considerably stronger at lower levels until the Mastery from datacrons gets kind of drowned out by the accumulated mastery from levels and gear. If you haven't gotten all of them yet, I think it's worth getting them all on your Bounty Hunter. Some of them are a little bit tedious but you only have to do them once, at last. The Sith Assassin tank is kind of fun to play, but having to have these purple glowy books spinning around you all the time kind of ruins the look of it. Also, the reason you felt Bounty Hunter was piddly is you didn't pick Powertech. Getting to jetpack into a pack of enemies, rocket punching them and setting them on fire while launching missiles from your shoulder is way more satisfying than... dual wielding pea shooters.
