I think it's more that if he takes sides in a Bandar election and the other side wins, his home base of operations and secret are in jeopardy. If he stays out, they have a nice symbiotic relationship: they get to have a legendary hero in their territory that helps keep their way of life secure, and he gets a safe place to live and people who play along with and propagate his "ghost *" thing.

Have you been applying a regular bread poultice, as any vet will recommend?

Also, put me in as another fan of Barnaby, though it does seem slow-moving. Liking the art in GTG, but the writing hasn't done too much for me yet.
