I'll vote for Trump over Clinton in the general because Trump isn't bought. It's a huge part of the appeal between Trump and Sanders is that neither of them are favored by money establishment. The overlap isn't so much in policy but in general populism. To people who feel like the system is rigged against them both Trump and Sanders appear to be on the same side; if that's your single issue.

Trump is also promising a giant make work project in my state in the poorest area; hopefully pumping some stimulus in to the poor minority areas and my vote doesn't matter anyway so I feel sorry for all the liberals in battleground states that feel obligated to vote for Clinton.

:allears:

And remember, Mexico is going to entirely pay for that project too. After he kicks all the muslims out or puts them in camps of course.

Yeah but if you look deeper into the stats, it turns out that the respondents mistakenly believe that Muslim is another word for the Irish. Also that the respondents were 19th Century New Yorkers.

Many fewer – but still more than four in 10 – favor deporting undocumented immigrants, another very strong group for Trump in New Hampshire. And, in another helpful result for Trump, four in 10 pick him among five top candidates as best able to handle the economy – twice as many as pick his nearest competitor on this issue, Ted Cruz.

Well then...

He's paid lip service to fixing it though. He has first hand knowledge of why the system is broken and isn't under anyone's thumb to perpetuate it.

Being a Clinton is a worse image problem than being a socialist to some republicans.

right, so the same republican obstructionism and inability to fulfill campaign promises that obama faced and the next democratic president will also face would be attributed to 'being a clinton' if clinton wins and 'being a socialist' if sanders wins

which supports my argument, that socialism in 2020 would have better prospects for the future if clinton had been the president for four years than if sanders did

if sanders could get some progressive/socialist policy through in those four years that clinton wouldn't have done, it would be worth it, probably. i think congress will prevent that, i'm pessimistic like that

Further in these preliminary results, nearly three-quarters of GOP voters identify themselves as born-again or evangelical Christians – again a record if it holds in final data, up from 65 percent in 2012. It was evangelicals who lifted Cruz to victory in Iowa; they made up 64 percent of voters there, vs. just 25 percent in New Hampshire, where Trump won.

Additionally, nearly half say it matters “a great deal” to them that a candidate shares their religious beliefs – up very sharply from 26 percent in 2012. And the top candidate attribute voters are seeking is someone who “shares my values” – a weaker group for Trump in earlier contests, and a consistently better one for Cruz. It was the most-desired quality in New Hampshire and Iowa, as well.
