If "Him" addressed himself as the birth giver, then you would be correct.

My current employer pays $70,000 starting wage, offers full benefits right out of the gate, excellent job security and a pension. Because a lot of boomer-aged employees (the ones that were careful with money anyway) are currently retiring, they have been hiring a lot of new people.

While there are a few millennials here and there, I'm kind of taken aback at the number who pass the job up outright, or do it for a year and quit (when its the kind of job that gets exponentially better the longer you work there) to go work for a startup. I guess because my job isn't in tech, isn't glamorous, and doesn't let you use your smartphone at work, it seems to be a bad prospect.

Most of our new hires aren't millennials, they're middle aged people who got laid off/aged out of their tech jobs, are 40-55 and have bupkis for retirement. But these guys don't have some unfair advantage over the kids half their age, rather its the practical experience to know what kind of job you can survive in long term. I'm sure a lot of these millennials think they are focusing on following their dream but playing up the whole poverty chic says otherwise. I won't be surprised if in five or ten years some of them come crawling back here worse for wear and 10 years worth of seniority behind people with more common sense.

here are crust punks

they only ever wear green brown black or red, 50% of them have dogs, and you can often see them standing at busy city intersections begging for money for the train/bus, often w a sign that says "NEW IN TOWN NEED $$ TO LEAVE"

you can usually smell them before you see them, if they're on th emove they have huge backpacks, and they never travel alone

This is a good representation of the acoustic side of the music that crust punks make (folk punk).

There's also the electric side (crust punk). One example:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0xFhRxg061g

In my experience with crust punks, these are literally the only two genres of music that crust punks ever listen to.

millennials achieve a modicum of self awareness in realizing that spending every waking minute glued to a smart phone is idiotic

self control remains a foreign concept though as they simply buy a dumb phone instead

i have just never switched to a smartphone, and it's pretty good.

whenever studies come out about the addictiveness of this behavior, and how it rewires (especially the adolescent) brain, this will probably sound like "heroin addicts should just exert some self control and only do heroin like once a day"
