A feature phone still mostly works, if you really want to test yourself do what I did a few years back and switch to a satphone when Globalstar's network was all kinds of lovely. Having to lug around actual paper printouts of when the satellites are going to be in sight? Check. Having to use a watch to clock down how much of the current 3 minute connectivity window is left? Check. Waiting hours on end to move a file at 9.6kbps burst speeds? Check.

The only way to have a deal like that is through a family hookup.

Wandle Shaytham posted:Suburbs have apartment buildings. The word suburbs refers to location, not dwelling type. It means a primarily residential area on the outskirts of a city. Fair enough. I'll take your word for it. Still, given everything else you can't dismiss the possibility you are putting forward. It would make a whole lot of sense given everything else (entitled, annoyed at having to work for a living...etc).

Slugnoid posted:so what do you call a triggered conservative? a social injustice warrior? A millenial. Growing up, "triggered" was something that would set a mentally retarded person off. Like at school, we would be given actual "trigger warnings". I remember one kid would attack you if you made fun of superman, and another would fly into a rage if you taunted him with the word "candy". When did society decide we have to treat everyone under 30ish as if the were retarded? I think it's a great idea, but just wondering when it went into effect. 2005-ish, I'm thinking?
