You're taking a slightly different, though still valid, interpretation than was meant. Hillary is still pushing for women's rights and criticizing people for not being great, or worse, about it. She's just completely abandoned the "war on women"-style attacks against Trump, which is what that poster was referencing in particular.

Here's a policy that Donald Trump has: Using the Federal Government to negotiate drug prices with pharmaceutical companies to reduce costs for the average American. Pretty good huh? How about legal marijuana at the federal level. How about investment in our crumbling infrastructure to create jobs and improve the economy.

Just because you say he has no policies it doesn't make it true.

Your rejecting the reality that Trump has been incredibly racist, sexist, and generally bigoted goes along pretty well with Trump's denial of reality in general.

Trump says whatever he thinks will get him the most attention at the time. He doesn't have any real positions on anything. Every time he's pressed to be specific on something, he warbles and bullshits out of the question. A list of things on a website don't mean anything if he can't even articulate what he believes, and he doesn't want to pin down anything specific because he doesn't actually have any concrete policies he cares about. He's a reality TV star who wants to make sure that he can't get pinned on anything, and it's worked for him so far, but the primary process is hilariously nuts.

i certainly don't believe my preferred candidate will win-- i think the deck is too stacked against bernie for him to make it. i also really, really don't like hillary, to the point where i'd vote for jill stein over her in the general. or write in sanders. hell, i'd consider trump if i wasn't married to a (legal) immigrant.

i just really, really don't think trump can win the general. all of the stuff that was true about him a few months ago is still true. in fact, the reason i didn't think he could get the nom is that the RNC can see the GE disaster he represents as well as i can and really wanted to stop him.

i overestimated their control of their party, the same mistake they likely made. i thought they wouldn't be foolish enough to hand such an obvious losing prospect the ticket, but they have. i'm not rejoicing like some dems because it says some very ugly things about the american electorate that he's gotten this far. i suppose the real test will come if he tries to triangulate in the general and his support evaporates; if that happens, then i'll be really scared, since it means a lot of people really, really want some horrible things to happen to muslims and immigrants. if he triangulates, walks back the most extreme stuff, and his support holds, i'll breathe a bit easier because it was just red meat for the base.

the people who are supporting him aren't all doing so because they're racist monsters. that's not how people work. they've been really screwed and been given a raw deal, and trump is giving them an outlet for their anger. the fact that it's the wrong outlet and his policies are likely to make their lives even worse isn't their fault. a 58 year old georgia kaolin miner with a bad back who lost his insurance after he lost his job has a right to be pissed, but it's people like the donald who are responsible for his plight and the donald isn't going to make things better for him.

i don't know, i wouldn't discount trumps appeal. he has been underestimated since day 1 by everybody, including myself. i thought it was just a gigantic joke to troll people and that he'd be dead as soon as the primaries hit. but nope, not the case. he has blown everything out of the water and what once looked like a republican blood bath, its now shaping up to be a non-contested convention.

he's got an underdog appeal and its an outsider election. you see that on both sides of the aisle with bernie and with trump, except that it seems like hilary will secure the nomination, but its looking to be more brutal than initially predicted. i think hilary will come out of the democratic primary as the winner, but wounded. trump will come out on top of the republican primary after he devastates the competition. the general is going to be absolutely brutal. it is an outsider election and when the outsider on the democratic side loses when that's the feeling of a large portion of the party, you are in trouble.

and also don't discount hilary's awful awful campaigning. she lost to a freshman black senator with a middle eastern middle name and is under preforming against a jewish socialist. there's definitely room for a trump victory in the general.

of course, trump is totally electable. he's the living embodiment of the evil side of american populism. its like all of our dark poo poo (especially reality tv) became independent, willing itself into existence like some sort of tulpa. there's a quote that stands out from the hbo movie game change where ed harris says: 'there's a dark side to american populism, and some people win elections by tapping into that' and that is precisely what trump is doing. people can shout 'but its <current year>!' all they want, these positions have always existed and will exist, because that's just human nature. the only thing we can do is curb these feelings and assuage them. they also just get worse when people are afraid, poor and vulnerable. and that's what a lot of americans feel right now.

absolutely there are reasons, and they are valid reasons. they largely have to do with rich people who say "wages are too high." the fact that one of those rich people is telling people he's got their backs is kind of a sad joke, but there ain't none so blind as those who won't see. people want to believe that this time it'll be different, this time the scratch ticket's a winner, this time you really did win the publisher's clearinghouse sweepstakes, this time the guy in the suit really does want to help you get a real job and support your family and Make America Great Again. of course it's all sham, but if you want to believe it then you'll ignore all the evidence to the contrary.

i feel really bad for that 58 year old kaolin miner from my last post, because he's caught in the wheels of a machine so big and so powerful that he never really stood a chance against it. he's been marked as a rube since day 1, and the people telling him that if he Worked Hard he could Make It were lying to his face and smirking to each other about it behind his back. and it took him a long time to figure it out, but when he did, he was pissed. and then some snake-oil salesman came along and told him it was the democrats' fault, and china's fault, and immigrants' fault, and all that was nice and easy to believe, and the man in the suit seemed so sympathetic, and here was something he could do, finally do to strike back at those impersonal forces which always seemed to be getting the best of him. and that man in the suit went to Washington and voted to shut down the government, and cut taxes and social security, and repeal obamacare for the 50,000,000th time, and joe the miner's life didn't change.

so here's trump. and trump's pissed off. he's not gladhanding, he tells joe he wants to punch washington right in the teeth. and right now, joe wants to punch washington in the teeth, because they've betrayed him over and over again. trump's not nice, he's not going to get to washington and fall in line like the last guy. he's rude! well, good! those people who fired joe and canceled his insurance, the doctor who told him he couldn't renew his prescription, the clerk who told him his weeks of unemployment were up, they were polite, but they still hosed up joe's life. he doesn't want a polite person. he's sick of rich people in suits being polite to each other while he suffers. he wants someone to shake them all up, to make them feel like he feels. he doesn't even care if trump can really fix his life-- privately, i think, he suspects that he can't-- but he wants someone for once to make those smug sons of bitches feel something other than their own sense of superiority.

i feel really bad for joe. i want to help him. i am supporting a candidate who, i think, really would help him. but i don't want to let joe ruin jose's life, no matter how justified he thinks it might be.
